OK, now that I figured out my problem isnt the ECU, but the eprom itself, I now have a total of two extra, socketed, working ECU's. Both are socketed and are in working condition, I swapped the good eprom I have into each one and plugged them in, one by one, into my car and both of them started and ran fine. THEY WILL NOT COME WITH AN EPROM OF ANY KIND IN THEM. To work, you will have to put in your own eprom, stock or tuned. Price is $100 each plus shipping. If you live in the Houston area you are more than welcome to come pick one up. Email is [email protected] You can look up roverT on Houston240sx.com for my i-trader score.
I also have a #78 ECU that has been socketed at well. This one, however, does not work for me. I dont know if it matters, but I have been using an EPROM tuned with the #98 base bin file. If a #98 bin file should work on a #78 ECU than its not working. I dont have an eprom with a #78 bin file to test in it.
1. #98 (MEC-D003), has one jumper wire where a metal tabbed got pulled up, works fine.
2. #98 (MEC-D003), has two jumper wires from where metal tabs were pulled up, works fine.
3. #78 (MEC-D016) No idea if this one works.----$40 shipped?
