my ballast went out... and he won't respond to my emails for an exchange. I know he's gotten them cuz of the read receipts Ive gotten back. That's bad biz, and unfortunately I through away the package it came in so I can't go TO him, but if anyone buys HIDs from this bastard please send me the address from where the HIDs came from, I'd love to meet him and take him out for coffee.

How long ago did you get them? did you call him (you can get his number thru paypal)? some sellers move lots of product or do this as 2nd job and dont get back to you fast...

my buddy bought HIDs form the same seller and the ballast went out on him as well. I know he tried countless times to email him and he did respond but it took the guys 3 - 4 days to respond. I say the bastard

you can request the address from ebay on any otem you buy, that doesn;t mean its the correct address or phone number

problem is since I bought them from HIM directly and not through ebay (I used CC vs Paypal), the purchase doesn't exist through it... i did get an address on him, but its a PO BOX. (sigh) well, I put the oem fog bulbs back in and now my car looks like a lexus with 5k lows, and halogen fogs LOL oh well, it looks good anyway and now I have a back up ballast and two HID bulbs.

Well herein lies the issue... Why would you give your CC# to a seller you dont know? Thats what EBAY is for, so there is a paper record to some degree... and you also dont give your highly valuable (although they only go for $5 on the street now) CREDIT CARD NUMBER!

(please tell me you did this on a CC not a debit card, as you essentially have no rights in a debit purchace)

Cutting EBAY out isnt an issue, paypal the seller the $ direct... but use paypal or SOMETHING... honestly when giving a business that operates from a P.O. box your credit card and billing info, id be suprised if a faulty part is all you get..

People talk on the forums about guns to combat home invasions... a home invasion happens to .00001% of people... know what the odds of credit/identity theft are? well giving out your CC like that just increased your odds 10x.

Be smart out there guys... i think i have somewhat established myself as the "value" buyer here, and with my ebay/online business, i can provide advice that can keep you out of hot water... but you have to be smart about it!

He created a label... you will see when it arrives if its just a replacement or an empty box for a swap...

And you still used PAYPAL... you didnt give him your CC... (you didnt state this properly originally)... the KICKER i use is although i get paid by paypal all the time... i take payments from them when its there... and whenever i BUY something, i make sure i have $0 in my account... so they bill my AMEX card individually for every purchace i make... this does 2 things..

1. it lets me get amex points for everything2. it stops paypal from churning their 3% everytime the money is used3. it gives me a double length warranty thru amex4. it is simple to dispute any individual charge thru paypal then thru amex if theres an issue..

I use ebay daily... (unloading my Wii Fit's as we speak right now) and people get burnt from not putting the right checks and balances in place... you should have this on your paypal acct.. and you should open a claim to put the issues on paper.

Theres no excuse I do ebay for a job I work for a foreign salvage yard, I answer hundreds of emails and ebay messages a day there is no excuse for not taking care of peoples problems. Maybe there is a legit excuse why he didnt answer your emails, maybe you will hear something soon, But no excuse for making you stress over it. Contact paypal and put in a dispute and escalate it, so you can maybe get your money back if it gets to that point. Still no point in harassing the guy and having 0 chance of getting anything done. Any questions on how to do it let me know (Puting a dispute into paypal)

Hey guys.. found this thread from google. I have a turbo miata that I bought these ballasts for. I recently had a ballast die with under 30 uses and this seller will NOT contact me back about the claimed "warranty". Has anyone had any luck getting a phone number or a method of claiming warranty?
