I run ChristianKustomz in Westminster, MD. We do CF repairs all the time. A simple solution to your common problem is wet sanding the hood. It is time consuming but it works. Here are the steps
1.) Wash the hood
2.) Get a degreasing agent-grease lightning is what we use (helps loosen surface)
3.) Next buy 2000 grit sand paper
4.) Buy McGquires #85 type 10 diamond cut compound.
5.) Buy a variable speed buffer and buff out the hood to a perfect shine.
Now to make a few notes. It's time consuming but if you like carbon fiber as you stated then you do not want to take short cuts. Take your time with the wet sanding. Careful with edges because there is less gel in these locations. When buffing start with the slowest setting and buff the hood. Don't worry about burning the hood. The diamond cut is designed to break down into a polish after it is done cutting. After you have a first light shine to it, redo the hood again using the diamond cut and increase your speed to 2500 PRM's (about half way) and then finish with McGquires high polish for a show room shine. This will take a few hours to do but it's worth it. This is really the only cost effective way of repairing the hood, unless you do not have the tools to do this.
I will not put my 2 cents in since you only asked about repairing your hood. So there you have it. I hope I have been of some help to you and others.
