Extremely High Idle (4K range at cold start)

Hey all. I'm posting for a friend because we just finished replacing his DOHC KA.

The problem is that when started, the idle runs to 4K and stays there. Adjusted the IACV, even all the way closed, still idles there. Throttle adjustment is perfect. Runs at 1700 RPM with MAF disconnected. Distributor was swapped from old to now motor.

The old motor had this same problem but was isolated to 2k. Otherwise, the motor starts up fine.

Any suggestions out there? Need to get this back on the road. Thanks!

using the same maf from the other swap? if so then i'd say bad maf. Also just check the voltages of the maf.

I'm thinking on replacing the MAF if anything. Any more ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, yall!
