...No response from the detailing section...

So my 240 is about to endure it's first summer OUTSIDE here in AZ.

My HOA specifically states "No car covers ..."...Everything exterior is original and still looking pretty damn good, and I'd like to keep it that way. I keep a fresh coat of wax on it; but the Arizona sun is the Arizona sun...blazing hot and relentless.

The girlfriend has the garage space and my trees aren't big enough to provide any shade.

What would you guys recommend for some protection for the paint and trim? Is wax enough?

Thanks in advance

I like Zaino. Order online. Easy to use, good UV protection.

BTW, I'd take my chancses with the car cover. I'd almost BET you they mean awnings.

If a fitted car cover is their issue, I'd challenge that. That's pretty far outside the bounds of their authority.

Besides, it'll be on and off from day to day.

Also - NO ARMOR ALL on the interior. Use Lexol, you can get it at epBoys.

Welcome to AZ, enjoy the summer!

Yep, at worst you'll receive a fine in the mail that you can challenge.

I just moved to Seattle this week, so no more AZ furnace for me! hehehe

Ugh.

Seattle rocks! Get a camo car cover then they'll never find it!

Yeah the weather here is definitely emo-status, but I moved at the perfect time. It was 70-75 degrees when I showed up on Sunday, and it's still decently warm. Luckily, it won't be raining tomorrow (please lord), so my track event at Pacific Raceways will be sweet.

Seattle has it all for me. Family, business connections, awesome home, lots of stuff to do, etc. The ONLY thing that sucks is the weather.

Haha no need for a cover. I have a four car garage and a gated driveway.

If the house is in your name tell the g/f to park her car outside you get the garage haha

I like it out there in arizona but a 3-4 car garage would be a requirement if I ever moved there I would never leave any car out in that sun

Arizona is brutal. I go to Yuma a few times a year for training. Its almost as hot as Iraq. Does your interior usually go out first or the paint? It seems the cloth and dash would fade fast if left alone.

Yeah, get a car cover. It's not worth risking your car. I got mine at Costco for like $30. Fits pretty well for the money I have to say but there are better.

Btw Matt, I actually moved here from Seattle (Issaquah). Only there for two years though. With a house like that, I'm assuming you live in Bellevue or somewhere near there right?

Thanks for the replies fellas. It's very much appreciated.

Hitman, I've been here for 4 years now; but I either had the car in storage or in a garage, and it's not my dd. I'm still messing with emissions to get it registered here..... still failing the cap test...

Matt, ya moved? Hell, i was going to hit you up to see that rb sometime. My girlfriend went to college in Seattle, and it's awesome this time of year...just wait for the remaining 8 months of the year.....that'll be awesome for a white car!!

Greg, yeah my gf is my sugar mama, so it's her condo. She bought it just before we got together. And she has a $30k Grand Cherokee....somehow garaging a car worth 1/10th that doesn't fly???? Don't worry though, the house we will build will have at least 3 deep garages...enough for hers, my truck, and my baby.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll talk to the hoa about a car cover. It seems a bit ridiculous in AZ....

I wipe my interior down with Meguiars once and a while and always use those sun shade things to prevent my dash from cracking. As for the paint I just use wax and hope for the best.

AZ sun sucks, it's already 100.

I live in Renton, actually.

Yep just moved last Sunday. If you head to NASA or SCCA events in AZ you can catch many crazier cars than mine hehe.

Yeah the weather just sucks huge balls here most of the time. I did get lucky today for the lapping day at Pacific Raceways. Only slight drizzle in the morning and then it cleared up for the rest of the day. I was hitting about 145-150mph on the straight... so fun. lol

Hey Greg, did I mention that it's going to be 87 today here in AZ? Just thought you'd like to know.

Matt, yeah i need to get back in to SCCA. I really need to buckle down on this emissions junk and get it registered here first though. You're right though, when I used to race back in AR, there were some crazy cars there. Lots of fun though, even though I got my a$$ kicked.

Sounds like you're getting off to a good start in WA. Good luck man.
