I just installed a Faze electric oil pressure gauge. When idling after cold start up the gauge is reading around 70psi. After warming up, at high RPM (4000-5500rpm) the gauge is pegged at 100psi. Now according to the FSM, this is just a tad bit high. I just recently installed a 97 KA into an 89 chassis, it has 110k on engine. I am running Castrol GTX 20w-50 and a Nippon filter. I have had no problems running 20w-50 in my VW Golf with high miles. I really don't like the idea of running a thinner oil due to my irrestiable urge to "stand on the loud pedal" quite often. Just curious of what numbers some of you are getting with your gauges.

Thanks

Nissan says pressure should be between 10 and 25PSI at idle and between 60 and 75PSI at 3,000RPM. Your gauge seems to be fubarred........

yeah, I am starting to wonder if either the gauges calibration is off, or my instinct that Faze gauges are just junk. (should have bought an autometer)

In my experience, FAZE gauges are junk. Go with Autometer at the least, if you've got the $$ spring for some DEFI or Greddy gauges, the quality is leaps and bounds above Autometer. Still, the price is quite a bit, and I've wired in so many Autometers in so many cars I usually stick with them. Can't beat the circa $50 a gauge price. Maybe someday I'll try out DEFI D-Link gauges.........
