what is the device that "pulls codes" called? can u rent one or does the dealership do it?how much would it cost (estimate)?

i also have a vibration noise when ever my motor is not fully tempurature but idle dropped, and the noise pops up from the begining of first and second gear. do you guys have any ideas or clues to what this is?

I call it an OBDII code reader.I'm from Canada, and I bought one for less than 100 bucks.Worth every penny.Other threads here refer to Autozone quite a bit, but I am not familiar with them. If you go to your dealer to have the codes pulled, you'll pay. My dealer charges $70.00. A rip off if you ask me.
