I just spent an hour yesterday removing my IAA Unit and cleaning the hell out of it...I have a S14 and there wasn't much information about the IAA Unit for my model of 240...all the info i have are for S13's...the IAA Unit on the S14 is a hundred times harder to get to..but i managed to get it out and cleaned it... In the FAQ section of 240sx.org someone mentioned you can connect an extra grounding wire to the IAA Valve...

My question is. How to you find out which wire is the ground wire????...one is black and one is orange...i assume the black one is the ground but i want to be sure...i have a factory service manual but it doesn't help...can i check the ground by testing the resistance from the wires to the frame of the car?????..will that work??

thanks

Black is the universal color for ground, unless the car had a previous owner who tampered with it.

Go to radio shack and buy a 7$ multimeter. Set the scale to ohms and ohm out your leads. Should read nearly 0 ohms. Then hook one lead to the black wire, the other to your car chassis ( make sure no paint is between chassis and lead tip) check the reading. If it reads nearly 0 ohms then you are sure its ground. If not check the other wire
