Is it possible to use a boost controller on an external wastegate like on a internal one? Also the wastegate that I am looking at has a ten pound spring. Does that mean that I will be limited to only ten pounds or do I have to buy a bunch of different springs? Thanks.

an external wastegate does not mean you can only one run exact psi of boost such as 10psi. an external wastegate does not mean you cannot use a boost controller or does not mean you cannot up the boost..the spring size such as a 10lb spring in your case means that you cannot go lower than 10lbs of boost..that is your set gate pressure..you can get a boost controller and up the boost to 11,12,13 or any boost you want you just cannot go lower than your spring pressure of 10psi

Sweeet! Thanks

Do you know of any quality yet reasonably priced wastegates in the 38 to 40mm range?

wastegates are pretty expensive and is not a part that I would buy a crap version of..you know like a knock off..then you will start getting boost creep..just search around for a good quality wastegate such as Tial or HKS..so far the cheapest place I found that sells them would be synapsemotorsports of NY..check in the vendor specials here on nico you'll find them

I noticed that the TIAL w/g has to air fittings on it. One is for vaccum and what is the other for? Thanks.
