I was just wondering who around here has an external wastegate that dumps to atmosphere. (I think some call it a 'screamer pipe') I've got a Tial 50 and it's LOUD AS BALL$ when I hit peak boost. Oh yeah and it sends wonderful exhaust fumes directly into the passenger compartment. So who's with me?!!

Yeah when I first bought my car I thought I had some insane valvetrain problem or a timing chain that was about to snap cause of all the racket that thing makes. I seriously suggest that you point the dump tube to an area where it won't send the fumes back into the car!

Well I dont have my setup done yet but by god I will. I'm going with a Tial also. As for my screamer pipe I plan on having it follow the down pipe down to just behind the wheel well opening area or so and having it kick slightly to the drivers side.

Wait a minute, I was thinking. The T28 that I am using has a internal wastgate but I could save a lot of $$$ if I bought a divorced chamber elbow for it and modified it to run open atmosphere, should work right? Should sound reasonably well, maybe not as good as a tial, but worth the savings.

I have a used divorced chamber if you want to really save money. It has a broken stud in it but if you going to cut the hell out of it you can deal with that too.

Basically the wastegate is seperated from the turbine part of the dump pipe to keep exhaust air turbulance down to a minimum to allow a more straight through design. Exhaust can leave the turbo instead of getting churned around inside the dump.

Oh thats fine dude, I figured you didn't want it since I didn't hear back from ya. It's all good. You should post some pics of your creation though before it goes on the car.
