I am fairly positive my KA is leaking oil. Everytime I get out of the car after driving there is a tinge of burning oil smell around the hood It isn't the valve cover gasket. Where else could it be? The only ones I know of are as follows

1) Crank Pulley Seal (also known as front main seal)2) Oil Pan gasket3) Oil Filter Gasket4) Possibly oil pressure sending unit??

Anyone with an FSM who could help me out I'd really appreciate it! Oh, and I have cleaned the engine and tried to look for it, but I lack the time, tools, and facilities to put it on a lift and really give it the twice over.

If it smells like burning oil, there is a good chance that it would be your oil pan gasket, because it can drip oil down onto the exhaust pipe and burn it up. Is there oil on the ground after it's been sitting in one place for awhile? If so, check if it's coming from the front or the middle of the car.

I move my car around spaces too much to really tell for one consecutive spot, although I'd tend to think that if the oil pan gasket leaked it would just run down teh oil pan to the bottom apex, but I could be wrong........

park your car over some clean brown cardboard right after driving it and let it idle a bit and see how much of a leak you have and where is may be.!!! i know my Ca is or was leaking a ton of oil were talking pancake sized spots when it sat and idled for 10 mins we traced it to the oilfilter oil pressure switch area... we over filled the oil alot and it began to leak i saw it dipping down the pan ... got the wheel off and crawled under the car while it was running and this was after 2weeks of leaking and not being able to find it... and it wasnt leaking anymore.. go figure... we think its the pressure switch or the oil filter or that assembly as a whole ... may still be the pan gasket but now that the oil level has droped its no longer leaking .... i dont know my car just likes to piss me off ... check the filter area and the pressure switch for oil coating ... and find out how much and what side its comming from !!! it may take a while of laying under a running car with a flash light to find it !

Pour some of that dye additive into your valve cover. Drive it for a day and then get underneath your car with a black light.
