Hi there. I just purchased a G37S MT6 less than a month ago and I wanted some opinions from current owners how should one care for the exterior and interior of my G37S? What products do you recommend for the care of the car? My Infiniti sales person recommended a leather product called "Leather Only" for the care of just the leather in car. Also, I did get something called the "multi-shield protection" plan which included the application of some kind of clear coat over the exterior/interior of the car, 5 year fixing of any windshield and door dings, and replacement of any wheels in the event I damage them outside of normal wear and tear. My sales person said that the "coat" that was placed on the outside will not require me to wax the car often or not at all and that I should hand wash the car or run it through one of those "touchless" automatic car washers.

So I'm looking for the following opinions.

- What products (waxes, for vinyl, for leather, for glass, for tires, etc.) do you recommend I use to care for the exterior, interior of the car. Also, what about cleaning the engine as well?

-I've heard of something called a "bra" cover. What is this exactly? I'm guessing it is something you can put over the front of the grill and hood to protect it from flying debris.

Thanks in advance.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Zaino line of waxes. You could search the Infiniti forums and see what others say about that.

And the other thing I think you are asking about is the clear bra.See this thread on a discussion of the propensity of the G to chip paint in the front and the clear bra.

Oh, and Welcome to the forums...

Well when I wax my car I always use either turtle wax or some other high end liquid wax I could spray the car and I always make sure I use those soft cloths, I forgot the precise name of them, but there micro fiber or something like that so it doesn't scratch the ride too much. One day I want to use a buffer like some of the members did it, but I am scared I might do something wrong.

Read that thread rn79870 gave you, it's great, welcome to the forum and glad to have you aboard. Whatever I said is basic things to do, but theres far more advance things to do, It just scares then hell out of me, I think some said they used sand paper some how to buff the car, don't know how tho

I have used Menzerna polishes to bring the shine out and keep it looking wet. Wax with a high quality wax like Blitz; P21S, Blackfire, or something similar.

The biggest problem with liquid wax is that it lasts about as long as a good car wash. There are two types of wax, carnuba and products like Zaino and Menzerna FMJ. the carnuba waxes last a few weeks and need to be reapplied for continuing protection. The synthetic waxes last longer, but some people with dark (red, black navy blue) say that it actually shines differently.

The car should be washed with high quality soap and dried with microfiber towels, to prevent swirl marks.

Good leather products arehttp://www.properautocare.com/leatcarprod1.html here. I have always used Lexol for all of my leather care.

This is one of my favorite sites for things to use and some advice http://www.properautocare.com/.

Consider investing in a good 7424 Porter Cable random orbital buffer, this little wonder makes even the rookies like me look good.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, the protection warranties that the dealers sell are more to line the dealers pockets than to protect you from an unknown hazzard.

Good luck

I agree with that. I've seen too many have problems a few years down the road.

I knew I was going to buy my car in black and right before I bought I was thinking about investing in a random orbital buffer until I heard the dealer say that they would not use it on my car. Of course, after you make the purchase and before you drive away, the dealer details the car for you, and they gave me a few tips. One was that they never buff any of their black cars because it leaves swirl marks. Does anyone have a black car and use a power buffer on it? Do you notice any swirls?

The damn thing is, I've only gone to touch-less car washes for quick touch ups, never to ones with brushes. I also wash 2x a month with a sponge and dry with microfiber towels. I also wax every 1.5 months. AND I ALREADY HAVE SWIRLS! My car is 6 months old and has 3500 miles on it. Now don't get me wrong, they're not visible to the point anyone would notice them at first glance. They can only be seen on a bright day at just at the right angle against the sun. But, is Infiniti paint really that fragile? I wish they had put that self-repairing paint that is on the EXs on our G37s.

Thanks to everybody who replied to my initial posting. I'm having fun driving my Black G37S MT6 and will look into the various interior/exterior car care products you have all suggested. I'm hoping I can find a combination of products and processes that won't require a whole lot of time and expense.

i recommend a foam gun. check out autogeek, i got mine from there

i'll probably never wash my car without it again.

basically its like one of those mr clean things. hooks onto your water hose, and spays the soap on your car, but it actually foams the soap up when it sprays on the car.. and you can adjust the amount of soap (amount of foam) being sprayed. makes washing the car really easy, and gets the surface of the car really slippery

Go to AUTOGEEK.com their Wolfgang products are great. Ive been using them for 5 years and you cant keep water on the car and the shine is as good as canuba wax. I have a G35 and a G37 Red and Blue. wolfgang also makes great leather care products. I never go to car washes.

I'll second the wolfgang product line. Used it on my altima and now on the G37. Some of the wolfgang products sold here http://www.superiorcarcare.net
