Extension Warranty worth?

just got 2006 350 z with 45000 Miles. my question is whether worth to pay 4000 for 25000mile or 4 years, and refund 2000 at the end of not get any claim. how do you think? I don't know how expense if i need to fix engine, transmission,etc?

probably since its a 2006 and they're known for having oil issues....

Beat me to it, but only on the the 6MT models. It's a little bit of gamb|ing on your part...do you think there is a risk of an issue that's going to cost enough to recover the money that you'll spend on the warranty itself. Engine and transmission problems are certainly pricey, and given that you've got a car from a model year that has more than it's share of oil consumption issues (provided you have a MT) it would seem to be a good idea,

If the lump sum payout of the warranty is an issue you could check and see if it's possible to get the warranty rolled up into the car payments so the cost is pretty negligible. But at that point it might also be wort looking at a newer model from '07 & '08 with the better VQ35HR engine and better performance.

you mean that auto transmission model has no such issue, right?

Correct, the automatic transmission had the standard VQ35DE engine and not the Rev Up version or the VQ35DE.
