Hello G Owners. I'm about to purchase an 06 G35 Coupe with 19,000 miles. Im considering buying the extended warranty for 1,500 extra. It gives me 72 months of protection. What do guys think, is it worth it - do these cars have many problems?

Thanks for any info.

I took this one because of the 2k miles a month that I commute.

Well.............I have purchased an extended warranty but you add 'is it worth it?'. That is that on average it is not worth it. It can't be or else there would be no money to be made by its sale. If you were to take the same amount of money and stick it under your bed only to be touched when it was needed then you would be far better off (on average). On the other hand if you want to pay someone to manage your money by sticking it under their bed and that is guaranteed to be available when needed, then that is what the warranty really comes down to (on average).

It is simply another insurance policy where you pay more out than you most likely will ever use. Over the last 40 years or so I have probably spent close to 50k in car insurance but I have only used about 7 or 8 k of that, one in an accident where I was t-boned by an uninsured driver, the other where another member of my family had an accident under my policy. These and about a half dozen windshields or so is all that I have ever used. On the other hand when both of these incidents have occurred I was basically in situations where the money on hand was just enough to pay the deductibles. So right at those moments I was glad for the insurance (besides the fact I had to be insured) but you certainly could not call it 'cost effective'.

Thanks for the reply, it is the same as yours except its grey with black interior. I'll pay 26K. It has 19,000 miles.
