I have a 2013 M35h with 80K miles, I wanted to get an extended warranty that covers the drivetrain and obviously the hybrid battery for when it goes P30EF and needs a $12-$18K replacement at some point likely soon.

What are some of the best options? Full 3K for Infiniti's option or are there third party alternatives that are any good?

Thanks

CarChex and CarShield are fairly highly rated. I'd check their pricing before buying through a dealership.

Many members here have had good luck with the Elite Warranty from Circle Infiniti in NJ or Scottsdale Infiniti IIRC. I myself have purchased the Elite from Circle twice. Beat the NY dealer by a country mile both times!

Thanks. I called my local Infiniti dealer here in TX and they said for a car that old (2013) and with 77K miles, they didn't have any options and it wouldnt be covered. I called Infiniti themselves (https://www.infinitiusa.com/owners/owne ... plans.html, 866-224-9827) and they also said there were no extended warranties possible for a car that old with that many miles.

Does this sound right?

Yep, Nissan factory warranties are only available when a car is "certifiable" used, and IIRC the limits for that are 7/75. Don't hold me to the time and miles, they don't make my 70 year old a$$ do used cars anymore and I'm not at the shop to ask. The point is, there are definitely strict limits. With aftermarket warranties, most dealerships arrange them through the lender, which of course doesn't apply to your situation. Route 66 is great, our service writers rave about it, but you can only get it through a bank. AZ's answer was probably right for your situation, your best options for an unfinanced vehicle will probably be CarChex or CarShield.

I knew Elite didn't like high mileage stuff (but I don't know if 77k is high mileage these days) but I guess I didn't realize how long ago 2013 was hah. Learned something new.
