Extended Warranty from NISSAN

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Since Nissan is around the corner and Infiniti is 100 miles away I went in to see if they would match the 4/48 i Elite deal from Circle infiniti in NJ.

She offered a Nissan backed used car Service contract for the same money and term with a $50 deductible. $1048. The $50 is well worth not going 100 miles to an Infinity dealer. Its an exclusionary contract offered by Nissan.

The extended Service Contract is what got me top dollar for my Tacoma at the end of the day and I think wit this tech it may be a good idea.

I have until next July I drive maybe 5000 miles a year,,,

That is where I bought my Infiniti Extended Warranty. (circle infiniti in NJ)
I am not sure if the lady still works there. (
Daniella Krasnopolsky)
She actually beats the price of one lady (Courtney)in Arizona who is well known here who gives a great price for extended warranty.

My car was at 35K miles when I bought that extended warranty.
I paid $1,800 with $50 deductible. So mines ends 2016 or 95K miles.
My car is already at 59K miles. So basically I got 5 years extended warranty.

The quote was 2 years ago.

You can refund a prorated amount if sell the car before the warranty expires.

Also a tip for those who bought a brand new car with extended warranty and financed the whole thing. If you decided to cancel the extended warranty within 30 days and buy it cheaper somewhere elses (e.g. Courtney). Make sure you ask for the dealer to refund you that tax that they charge you for selling the warranty. Normally, the refund is just a full extended warranty price, but not the tax charge to you. The dealer keeps that amount and lost in the bubble of financing revenue. That is your money ($80-100+) :woot:

I once asked a Toyota dealer to refund me that tax they charged me after cancelling the warranty, and the finance lady did not know what to do. She even told me that no one ever ask her to refund that charges. Later the week I got a check for $89 from the dealership. :dblthumb:

The thing is I would be buying a NISSAN backed warranty good anywhere because the Infiniti VSC is only good at Infiniti (100 miles away) and this contract is backed by Nissan who will be doing all my service anyway. So I would not be buying an Infiniti VSC but a Nissan backed VSC that is good anywhere, I am too far from any Infiniti dealer to buy theirs, I would have something fixed under warranty by Nissan anyway if it was under $500.

I'm very interested in doing the same thing you're mentioning as my nearest Infiniti dealer is about 100 miles away as well. Do you know the exact name of the service contract they offered you? Also, I remember when I had an open recall done on my old Qx4 they required me to go to an Infiniti dealer to have it done as opposed to Nissan. I just wonder if having some EX specific problems repaired through a Nissan dealer may be an issue? Feel free to keep me updated on what you end up doing, and if you recall the name of the VSC through Nissan that would help me as well.

It's called "Quality Guard +Plus (backed by Nissan Extended Services North america.

My quote was $1030 w/$50 deduct starting today at 4/48K My fac warranty does not expire until next July so ANY issues would require travel to Infinity until then. After that ALL Drive train would have to go to Infinti as they have a longer Drive train Warranty. All Nissan can do is the electronics , A/C and other than Drive train which would be sent to Infiniti until that Warranty expired. They matched Circle Infiniti (added a $50 deduct but that saves me 180 RT travel) I am not sure the Nissan Warranty is worth it as I will still have to go to Infiniti for the major stuff. But its usually the minor stuff that goes out. Motors, NAv units etc. All of which can be handled by NIssan as they use the same system in the Maxima I think. But they cannot do ANY warranty work covered by Infinity so I may as well buy the Infiniti warranty I guess and take my chances. Either way I am going to wait to make sure I want to keep the car and buy it closer to warranty end.

Nissan will not do recalls on Infiniti. Or ANY Warranty work. My thought was if its under $300 I will have Nissan do it and pay them. IF I have more than three warranty issues I will sell it and buy a Toyota or Subaru,
