Hi,

I am new to the forum and was wondering if anyone has recently purchased extended warranty for 2009 Rogue. I am looking to purchase 8yr/100,000 bumper to bumper extended warranty. Any advice on prices and best place to purchase the extended warranty would be greatly appreciated. :)

Call several different dealers in your area and see what they have to offer and what kind of pricing they can give you. Pricing will vary a good bit from dealer to dealer.
Just make sure they're offering you an extended warranty through NISSAN. Not some 3rd party. Even the best 3rd party warranty is crap and a major PITA to deal with when you do have an issue.

There's probably also a few places online you can buy them, maybe others can chime in there.

Thank you for your feedback, Nick 568. I do agree it's best to stick with the Nissan extended warranty even though it's more expensive. You are right that pricing varies from dealership to dealership. The difference can be as great as $1000.

Does anyone know if you are required to have your vehicle inspected in order to purchase the Nissan extended warranty? I am getting inconsistent information from the dealership regarding this question. Some dealerships said it's not required since it's still under the manufacturer's warranty and some dealerships said it's required since the extended warranty was not purchased at the same time the car was purchased. I am afraid to purchase the extended warranty from a dealership out of state if that's the case. Any feedback is appreciated.

After having CVT, Struts,Shox ,Strut Bearing, Brake Shift Solenoid, battery , Shift Bezel , AC Clutch assembly replaced and Brake Rotors machined under warranty I had no choice but to buy an extended warranty to cover my Rogue for coming years.

I have had all maintenance / repair done at dealerships and I asked them for quotes. They quoted way high and some of them asked for inspection which is strange because they can check my records in Nissan database.

I ended up buying at http://www.nissanextendedwarranty.com for 33 % less than lowest dealership price. Debra Woodcock was very helpful and patient to explain the warranty and suggestions. They did not ask for any inspection since its online and said they will validate everything using Nissan database.

Thanks for sharing the information. I hope I didn't overpay for my extended warranty. I had to purchase it by Oct 29th of this year since my manufacturer's warranty expires on 10/29. I purchased the Nissan Gold Preferred Extended Warranty. In any case, I think the extended warranty will pay for itself in the long run.

I contacted Nissan for clarification, and was told by the Nissan Corporation's customer service rep. that an inspection is required with the purchase of the Nissan extended warranty. I purchased my extended warranty from a local dealership; and insisted that my vehicle received an inspection at the time I purchased my extended warranty to avoid any possible issues. Be ware that you may have to pay out of pocket expense to have your vehicle inspected by a Nissan dealership if Nissan insists that your car get inspected. I was told by the Nissan Dealership in Santa Rose, CA that it would be my responsibility to get my car inspected after I purchase the Nissan extended warranty through their website. Needless to say, I didn't go with them since it would be less expensive for me to purchase the same extended warranty from a local dealership.

Today I reached out to Nissan Consumer Affairs and inquired about this. What they told me is it is not required. The guy on phone said he hasn't heard about any inspection requirement while buying a Security+Plus plan for new under factory warranty vehicle.

I too have bought a Gold preferred 6 Yrs/ 75,000 miles plan.

Yesterday when I was buying the plan online, my vehicle was at dealership and I plan to use that as an evidence just in case.

Since we are getting mixed responses , let me pose this question to the forum members : Based upon you past experience / information do we need to have an inspection while buying Nissan backed Security+Plus plan for a new vehicle currently under factory warranty ?

I have had Maintenance Plus plan for three years and all maintenance has been done at dealerships till date.

Happy Thanksgiving.
