I purchased my 2006 M45 just outside the original 4 year warranty with only 38k miles. The local Infiniti dealer is not willing to do much as the car is out of the 4 yr bumper to bumper warranty.

I was wondering whether the Inifiniti extended warranty would cover the seat rails.

Isn't there a TSB for 2006 seat rail issues?

Yes there is a TSB: ITB07-029. Thay had to replace mine under warranty 4 times. My 2006 M35 have now 87,000 and is still going strong.

I have the TSB on pdf if anybody needs it.

WHAT? 4 times? LOL!

I figured once they fixed it, since it is a TSB, it woulda been solved the first time lol

Apparently, after they issued the TSB, they had to modify the Adjuster Assembly because it kept bending and breaking.

I'm a big guy (6'1" / 300) but this is the first time that I have this problem with a car. At first it started moving whenever I accelerated or braked, then the right side of the seat began to get closer to the center console as the rear right side of the seat bottom started to go down, compared to the other corners of the seat. I even got sometimes back-pains for using the seat this way while waiting for the replacement part. The last repair was when the car had 59,000 miles and haven't had the problem again.

However, when I was researching the Elite warranty, Courtney told me that purchasing one on a vehicle that is out of warranty requires an inspection (because it is no longer an extension), and anything the inspection finds won't be covered on the warranty. That said, I don't know if the inspecting party would find your seat problem or not, but if that is accurate and they did, you'd be out warranty money plus inspection money and still have the broken seat.

I'd like to read this TSB. Does anyone have a URL for it? All I can seem to find are references to it.

I had the same issue happen to my 06 M35X when it reached 77,000 miles. The warrenty replacement only cost me $25 at the dealership. I had to get a seat assembly replacement.

or you can do what someone on this forum did. take apart that seat, and take it to a good welder and he can just reweld the areas that broke for 100 some bucks.

heard the problem with the seat rails were that they werent welded properly. or welded very cheaply.
