I wanted to purchase the injen intake for the A/C. I also want to buy a cover for the filter in order to extend the life of it. Would anyone know the dimensions of the filter because so i pick the right cover

To my knowlede you just need to wipe the thing off ever 5k or so.... as far as a hydro shield... i dont think its required since we dont have a TRUE CAI and the pipe isnt in a position to get drenched..

I doubt water would be able to get in as well, the reason i was thinking of putting it on was to prevent particles from entering.

That's what the filter element is for so there's no need for a filter for the filter. Adding another element might actually hurt the performance of the intake. All you need to do is use a recharging kit after so many miles. The filters actually work better with a little dirt on them so there's no need to clean them out every 5000 miles. I'm going 10,000 miles before I clean mine out.
