exposed flywheel?

so i just picked up a 91 coupe and i pulled the front end off the car to replace the bumper when i noticed that the flywheel could be seen from the under side of the car and i dont know about the 240 but with any other car thats a bad sign? are they all this way or is there something that i need to be looking for

I think your missing the dust shied that goes between the trani and the block.. Ive been told It is not REALLY bad unless you drive on really crappy roads, but still wouldn't hurt to get one.

the normal place u get car parts. ebay / craigslist / junk yard etc etc

or if u have some deep pockets u can always hit up the dealership.

They are not really hard to find.. look in the classifieds on here but if your ganna replace it, you should probably replace the clutch while your down there unless it looks good or it was just replaced and they forgot the dust shied. so you just movied to wisconsin? what area? maybe this forum will help you find parts in the area.. midwest240sx.forumotion.com .. and if you really need one I have one on a junk block..

i just moved to hudson its right next to the st croix river. and i also just picked up a new exedy clutch and pressure plate so ill have to find that dust shield so i can put that on after everything else is done. and ive never heard of a car that has an exposed flywheel before is there any reasoning behind that?

maybe someone got lazy and didnt put it back in or just forgot all together. There is no way it could just come off itself. when you swap your clutch you will see why.

ok ill have to take a look at it i have so much going on with that car right now its crazy. and is there a big drift scene here in WI

Its hard to really say. I mean there is alot of people that come up from chicago (risky devil) and go to a track up here in shawano. mostly down by milw and chicago.. that ive noticed. Minnesota has a few idk of them but I still hear about it.

but over where you reside Im not sure. its so quiet over there lol.

What do you have going on with your car? s13 ? or s14?

right now the clutch and pressure plate and i have the s13 with flip headlights and im making a custom front end and ive got brakes and sway bars and a new exhaust im waiting to put on. what do you have?

I have a 92 coupe and a 90 hatch... I usualy buy, sell, partout 240s around my area but the snow is coming so ill have to put that on hold for a while.
