So here's what I noticed today:

No, not the horrendous tail lights on the VW.

It seems this windshield interior trim piece decided to explode. Looks like ***.

How the crap did this happen? Think this would be covered by the warranty?

Discuss.

I have the same problem. I push it in sometimes with a cd case, but it tends to keep coming back out. If you brought it to the dealership they would for sure fix it.

I don't really know about 'exploding', but this trim also popped out on my windshield about a week after I purchased my AC. I just pushed it back in with a card and it hasn't popped back out since.

I don't know, this thing sticks out pretty damn far!

I hope the dealer will fix it though. It's a little annoying and I don't wanna poke at it.

Hyundai wouldn't have this problem. They are made of pure plastic, I hear. Even the seats.

That's the word on the street

Your probably right, you would have much larger problems like transmission and powertrain issues!

That's odd-- any ideas if it happened by itself, or perhaps it was from running the defogger on high?

Mine was like that when I bought the car new. The dealer just pulled it off. I have gotten weather stripping from Home Depot and stuffed that in there. Any Idea what it is for?
