As I am sure most have heard the Eastern states were hit by a large (by Maryland standards) snow storm. I do have to say my FWD rogue handled well considering most people in my area were ending up in ditches. Here are a few pics of the aftermath of about 12 hours of snow on my still vehicle. There are about 18 inches just outside the front door.

Anyone actually drive their AWD Rogue in this storm? How did it handle? Please share your experiences.

Hey Ntwrkd - I got caught in it - had about 14 inches on the ground at the time. I live in Central Va. - total about 18 inches here. I have the 09 AWD -and it was fantastic - best AWD (4wd) I have every drove. We have quite a few hills here and at the time when cars were sliding in the ditches and spinning there wheels - the little Rogue just when on by. Never even hinted at sliding of slipping out to control - I was very inpressed. Of course I did engage the AWD lock when going up hills and kept my speed under 30 and she preformed like a champ. Very Very happy with the SUV.....

Rob, what kind of tires do you have on your Rogue? I got a set of Michelin X-Ice Xi2 a few weeks ago. Still waiting for a big snowfall to test the Rogue.

Hey Nbguy66 - I just have the stock tires on mine, the Conti 4X4's. This snow was the biggest snow we had down here since 96, so it was a really big deal. The Rogue only has 3800 miles on it so the tires still look and act new. You can't even get the aggressive winter type tires down here that I read about on the forum here. Anyway I just locked the AWD in and drove at a resonable speed and the Rogue took me where ever I needed to go with out any issues.

We got close to 2ft in my neighborhood right outside Philadelphia and my AWD rogue was great. Our streets don't get plowed well so I was able to really test the car out. I have the stock Conti tires with 16k miles on them. I easily pulled out of my parking spot on the street without having to shovel out my car. If I still had my 98 Accord I would have called off from work (worst handling FWD car I ever drove). Driving to work in the Rogue was easy, no problem on hills or turns. I never needed to turn on the AWD lock on at any point.

Now if Nissan could just fix the floor heat vents, my toes are cold!!

This is the second snow storm that I have driven it in and it handled like a dream. This is the first AWD vehicle that I have owned and I wasn't sure what to expect. I am very impressed. Right now I am still using the OEM Continental tires but there are only 4000 miles on them.

I was finally able to get it washed this afternoon to get rid of the road crud. That thing was filthy and it was driving me nuts. It looks so much happier now that it is clean again. Me too.
