Hello everyone. I am getting a new clutch masters kit installed in my 2010 a/c 2.5 6mt. While researching what clutch to choose I stumbled upon this site and a user whom successfully did an HLSD swap into the same transmission I have. I figured this is the perfect opportunity to conduct this mod within my car as well, while the transmission and is off the car and all. I have spoken with Courtesy parts and got the complete diff assembly (backordered of course) part number which will work. I know I will need to replace the transaxle side and clutch side differential bearings. This is where I am stuck. What else will I need to make this modification go smoothly? I know there is also a shim, however many different sizes so I have no idea which one ill need. There is also a speedo gear, again not sure if I will need it. Also 2 differential "race" parts that work in conjunction with the aforementioned bearings, however those I cannot seem to find on the courtesy parts website in their exploded diagrams. So, please...whomever know this project very well, any insight will be greatly appreciated!! Car has 83k and counting miles.

I didn't realize it matted up to the 2.5 transmission. I have the HLSD on my 3.5 and the only other thread I know of was by another 3.5 owner.

Yes sir. I went ahead and ordered the HLSD with the two side bearings and speedo gear. The engine and transmission for the 2007 Sentra SER spec-v has identical part numbers. The only difference is the final gear ratio. I am utilizing my same final gear. Courtesyparts.com is a very, very useful tool so I was able to figure everything out. The QR25DE and VQ35 use the same transmission. I was more or less looking for assurance, however I feel confident with this project. I have my clutch masters kit coming in today (fx250 organic/fiber disc) as well as my BC racing type BR coilovers on order. Everything will be going on at one time. So...I suppose I will be the first person with limited slip on a 2.5? Regardless I remember the performance a limited slip gave my cobalt SS with g85 package so I am quite excited to get that performance back!

The info you got is correct, it does bolt on with our transmissions as well (2.5). The final gear is up to you to decide whether to keep your current one or not.
Just one thing, I had no idea clutchmasters made a clutch for us 4 th gen or coupe 2.5

http://clutchmasters.com/shop/?page=sho ... d3fadcd42c See if that works. If it doesn't just go to clutchmasters.com and choose Nissan - Altima - and the second 2.5L engine option is the one. Comes with the hydraulic slave cylinder as well. I chose the FX250. If you think that is sketchy think about it this way..Choose Nissan - Sentra - SER specV 2007-2010. That car has the same transmission as ours. I have done HOURS of research fella's. I can honestly thank http://www.courtesyparts.com/altima-cou ... _6604.html It has been my bible throughout my project journey thus far!

Thanks for the info for the clutch. I'll be needing one in another year or so and clutchmasters is only 5 miles away from me so I'll most likely let them do the job along with the HLSD. Last time I seen, SkullCandy had them going for 300 bucks brand new

No problem sir. I've searched the internet for many, many hours the past 2 weeks and i'm here to give definitive answers to the questions I had going into this project. All my answers will be complete once all the parts come in and installation process begins, however so far so good with my research. Clutch masters kit came with the slave cylinder, which for my application has the throw-out bearing. I confirmed with Courtesy Nissan that the same slave assembly for a 2010 altima 2.5 from the Nissan factory has the throw-out bearing in the unit, its all in one!

Yeah, Courtesy Parts is located down the road from me. I ordered the HLSD on their site and picked it up not long after. At the time I was lucky enough to purchase the HLSD while only 2 were located in the states. I also utilized their site a lot for my swap which was great fun, ha.

Unfortunately for me, it is back ordered and no one has an idea when it will be in. I am just hoping..reallly hoping it doesnt take 6 weeks. My current stock clutch wont be able to go those extra couple thousand miles :-(
