Has anybody had any experience with JDM-Online? I'm finally ready to buy an S13 SR Blacktop.

I already checked the FAQ "Where To Buy Engines," and I only found one review, but this is a big investment and I can't take any chances.

Coomunication has been good, but getting ahold of him to send pictures of engine and compression has been sluggish. I have all the money in cash and I don't know why it's taking so long...

Okay, I just searched using different key words and found out more about them.

There were still a few pending eninges in those threads.

I want to know results and outcomes with dealing with JDM-Online.

They're out of engines. I've checked in with them for a while.

Can you elaborate? I saw that it took you 5 months for you to recieve your SMIC. How was the turbo? How was shipping? Did they give you compression numbers/pictures?

I sopke to a few other people, and with their service, I'm not sure why Nico even has them as a sponsor.

Okay, don't believe me. I called them two weeks ago and they said they said they were out of S13 SR Blacktops. They expect shipment sometime in September.

EDIT: I was going to buy from JDM-Online. Took him over 3 or 4 days to get me ANY pictures. Another 2 to do anything else. I waited an extra 2 weeks to buy from JHOT. Nesar has a horrible attention span/memory.

JHOT Imports.

I bought my motorset and Silvia front end from them. GREAT GUYS.

They had a bad motor and they wouldnt sell it to me. : ).

They dont give you fake mileage numbers of 30k-40k miles. Because that is such a stupid thing for people to believe low mileage. On some of the motors they were gonna sell me had 100k and 80k miles.

I'm in the same situation.

Hey do you have AIM, it would be a bit easier to talk over that.

He said he would get me pics yesterday, and nothing yet.

The mileage on those engines scares me though. Some looked so incredibly clean, but they ended having the same mileage as my KA.

What I don't like is that they don't do compression checks. Yes, they come out of running cars, but it doesn't mean the compression is great.

How many miles were on the engine you bought?

One of you had hit me up on aim today, and I hope I was able to give you a clear idea of what it was going to be like if you went with jdm-online. As for JHOT, they have a clean facility, and good people work there. As for the engines looking clean, thats steam cleaning for you, it is good at making the outsides look new.

I ordered my motor from JDM-Online and I would rate them as decent. My motor was very clean and it starts and runs good and has pretty good compression but I had nothing but problems with wiring. First off they sent me the wrong ECU. The ecu was not labeled at all and once I had the engine installed it took me about a month to figure out it was the wrong one. Second off the wiring was hacked probably by the previous owner. It appeared as though it had an SAFC on it at one time and the wiring was done horridly and the harness had been hacked up pretty bad. I contacted nessar about the harness and he told me to try and fix/hook it up so I did. It worked but lately i've had some wiring gremlins and the harness is about ready to come out of the car again for a complete overhall/possible replacement. Other than that the important parts (motor/transmission) are in great shape and seem to be pretty strong. Part of it is my fault b/c it took me so long to do the install by the time I figured out it was the wrong ecu it was way out of warrenty. As far as the harness is concerned I requested a replacement but Nessar told me to work with the one I had and it did work but alot of that has to do with the fact that I'm an electronic repair tech and that just so happens to be one of my areas of expertise. Other than that the shipping was fast, he sent me compression #'s/ pictures and the engine seems to be rather strong. I'm currently running about 10psi with my setup/upgrades without a boost controller or engine mngmnt. The car still doesn't run 100% right mainly b/c of wiring issues due to a hacked harness. As far as pricing goes you really can't beat JDM-Online's deals and if they send you a hacked up harness or the ECU isn't labeled or something doesn't seem right I would really get on Nessar's case about it. Like someone else said; he doesn't have much of an attention span. They are a decent company considering they're selling a used product.

I've had enough... I figured I should let him send pictures of the engine before I say anything further, but after I recieved them, I am extremely disappointed.

Horrible communication. Takes 5 days to send two pictures, and the lighting is so bad you can barely see anything. Yes, I understand you deal with many customers, but if you tell me you're sending pics in 2 hours, don't lie and send them 4 days later!

I specifically ask for pictures of the compression tester, which he says he provides in his first post, and all I get is him telling me numbers.

I email him and call him the same day that I recieve the initial pics asking for the mileage on the engine since the engine is still in the clip, and I still have not recieved anything. I have all cash and was willing to purchase last Monday, though I needed the pics and comp. test results. He basically turned money down from a willing customer.

If I'm having this many problems with just pictures, I can't imagine what would happen if I bought it from him.

Two thumbs down for me.

If anyone is interested, I will post the pictures.

Okay, I'll provide one last update for anyone who is planning to deal with these guys.

I asked for the mileage on the clip as well as additional pictures near the end of August to give them a second chance, and I still have NOT recieved anything. No emails, no phone calls, nothing.

I was supposed to recieve pictures within a day or two from the time that I asked, yet I haven't recieved anything.

I also bought my S13 blacktop motorset from JHOT.

Very helpful people. In the pictures there wasn't a MAF so I asked them to include one. They ended up not only throwing in a Blitz Airfilter and intake w/ MAF but also everything else to get the swap running including a 180sx fuel pump, downpipe, and intercooler w/ piping. All of this for a fairly low price.

The engine was also in amazing shape and hasn't given me any problems since the swap.

How many miles did your engine come with?

Your engine was very clean even though it wasn't power-washed. I had spoken to JHot, and they had a 53K mile engine, but it looked very oxidized. It didn't look much like yours. I ended up not buying it.
