The Hummer broke a tie rod going over a stone in the path while off-roading. He then tried to back up and the wheel was just floating there :PHis friends stopped him and I assume they got the thing towed eventually

H2 tries to go over some pretty agressive rocks and both wheels end up pointing forward towards each other. Brutal.

exactly what happened. the way the wheel went over the stone and the tie rod took the blow. obviously not enough suspension travel going on. hehe. yuppie got what he deserved for overestimating

I dunno, I think my favorite military truck was the old Dodge Power Wagon, nowhere near as bad *** as the hummer, but man they look so cool...

hummers suck , even the real ones , just wait till you have to work on 6 a day int he desert , absolute junk , gimme a flat fender land rover , at least its easy to work on

i stayed in the desert for 120 days heres my humvee list:

10 trannys 15-20 sets of brakes 14 snapped cv joints2 engine swaps more tires than i can remeber (takes 1 hour to replace one tire)1 broken frame and more electrical gremlins than a old brittish car

all of that wouldnt have been so bad if it was easy to work on , you have to be a gyneocologist to work on em , and god forbid its a up armor with A/C

nevertheless to say i was happy to get back to my firetrucks

I really wouldn't expect any more if that much from an H2. They are really candy a$$ Hummers. I always say to people that nobody would even think about taking one off-road. And that is exactly why.

i hear ya dude , you guys didnt have to chase oil leaks tho , man that really made things worse , half of the little repairs i made to them were oil leaks or starter ring gears

I did...the gaskets we received to fix the problem usually was worse than the one that was already on there. I also still have fond memories of starter work on them...I still have popeye shaped arms because of those heavy B***hes

The H2 is built on the Yukon chassis. The vast majority of people that buy SUVs never even touch dirt with them, so the manufacturers have started building them weakly because it's cheaper and they know the vehicles will never be tested. But when someone does decide they want to venture off road, they get a rude awakening.

I don't understand the appeal of the H2. I think they are one of the ugliest wastes of metal and gas I have ever seen. I'd rather drive a fvcking UPS truck.

I LOVE the old Power Wagons... Also the old Land Cruisers.

But my all-time favorite 4x4: The Samurai. $3000 worth of engine, tires and gears and it'll out-climb ANYTHING. :D

I really like the first Broncos when the fenders have been cut for bigger tires and they have a cool paint job like Perriwinkle blue, corvette yellow or plum crazy, those look so sweet then...
