was suppose to have it dyno tuned today but miscommunication from the shop. They booked my dynotime but they went to a car show instead, so when me and my tuner showed up rather pissed off and disappointed.

I've finally managed to finish my build after all these years and mainly following float's step by step guide in the faq, it says can make up to 270rwhp but at this point it doesnt really feel like it.

Anyways here is my setup, what kinda of power levels could I be expecting?

ca18det oem rebuild has probably 8000kms now
tomei metal hg same dimensions as oem
tomei 256/256 cams
s14 t28
hks wastegate actuator
hks EVC-S boost controller
3in dp
3in catback
cone filter w/hard suction pipe
bov atmospehric
HKS F-CON Vpro w/map setup
GTR fuel pump
deatch werks 720cc injectors
aeromotive fpr

You have more than enough fuel and the ECU to map it, you have some nice bumpsticks and a metal head gasket, why the underachieving turbo? It's a great starter setup to get the tune dialed, but I would step up to something more substantial. The turbo can get you to the stated goal, I think you will be happy with your engine. On paper it seems to have the makings of a solid bullet.

When I started back then I was thnking T28 would be enough without breaking the bank too much. I was still in university back then and working at a restaurant so it was a super slow build.

I'm hoping this would be a good baseline start and see how it performs at the track before upgrading to another turbo.

As I said in the faq, this should be enough, with good tuning, to get you in the neighborhood of 270rwhp.

Just a reminder, the CA doesn't need, nor does it tolerate a lot of timing advance. My method for ignition timing setup on the CA is to start with about 20° of total timing under full load at low boost. Then slowly advance the timing until it stops making more power OR I hear detonation, whichever comes first. Then I pull back 2° to be safe. Then increase the boost a few psi, and repeat for the higher boost levels.

idk if you figured out the HKS EVC-S yet, but set the overboost value to 0.0psi

^ Yeah I figured it out last night somewhat, looked through a good 25 pages of google search. Resulted in too much sales pitch and not enough review/usage thread from people who bought it.

I end up finding 4 links out of 25 with pretty good coverage on how to set it up, yours included.

Right now I have it set at

OFS 50%, RSP 0%, OPT 0.1BAR(1.5PSI), WRN 1.03BAR(15PSI)

this seems to let me hold 0.8 to about 0.85 BAR across the rev's.

What kind of settings are you running?

i think my response and overboost are set to 0.0psi, my warning at 12psi, and my offset i think is between 40-50%. I have it set to run about 10psi, but drops to maybe 9.7psi at the top of the RPM range (7k is where i shift). This is just a quick setting after i figured it out after a couple tanks of gas. I just wanted to give my $.02 on it because it took me so long to figure out and there are so little reviews on it.

I actually don't know what to do anymore, pretty pissed off about how things been going lately. Suppose to have it dyno tuned 3 weeks ago and things just keep getting pushed backed.

Keep in mind my tuner does not have dyno at his shop he rents from another shop.

1st week - canada weekend (sure I forgive the guy) he says next week

2nd week - call mid week and ask what time on saturday (oops the company is going on camping trip) sorry next week for sure

3rd week(this week) - dynotime is booked with drivehardperformance for 1pm saturday, only to show up with tuner that the guy who sets up the dyno is not there. Instead the guy is at Driven to Perform (autoshow). Talk about bad customer service to not even notify your customers. A random mechanic there says okay we'll have it setup for tuesday anytime.

Monday (today) - call my tuner and asked if he setup the appointment yet, guy forgets. I even left my tuner a voicemail at 12pm and never got a call back. I call at 4pm when im off work to see if Tuesday appointment is setup, he says he forgot . He calls at 4:30 and what a surprise the dyno guy at Drivehardperformance has already left.

sorry for the rant, but just pretty unhappy the last little while. I'm probably gonna look for another standalone and get it tuned else where.

Stupid HKS F-Con locked into certified tuners only.

Sounds like really crappy customer service coupled with even more crappier luck. Good luck wiith trying to get your car tuned. The way it sounds, they just don't see you as a priority and I would steer clear of that shop with the dyno luck. With your luck, something is bound to go wrong. Oh yeah as for HP, anywhere from 230whp to 270whp, but it all boils down to the tuner's ability to manipulate the magic boxes to suit your engine's desires.
