Whats up guys...Just wanted to see if anyone had some cool Headlight/Fog Light Configurations. I've seen some cool ones around. Right now my 2006 M35 Sport set-up is simple. 8,000k Headlights and Foglights and I have 10,000k Ultra Blue Parking Lights. Ill be upgrading my high beams soon. Fog Lights are no longer factory hooked up. I have them set up independently from the headlights. Just wanted to do something different and trying to see what is out there.

Just my opinion but 6k is the most I will do on my cars... maybe 8k. I think 10k is in the ricer realm.

No offense, but you are ruining your car. Why?

1) The higher you go in kelvin temp (the k number) the further you get from natural light. Natural light is 4300k (light from the sun). What does this mean? You get less lumens and less usable light. Stick to 4000-6000k for the best look AND functionality. If you decide to go to a 50/55w kit, get 1000k higher than you normally would as it gets washed out. So, if you want 5000k 50w, get 6000k 50w instead.

2) Having really blue, purple, green, pink HID's is REALLY ricey and is VERY fast and furious...aka 2001. You are driving a 60k+ vehicle, not a Honda Civic.

3) Lastly, do not waste money on high beam HID's. Why? Because by the time your ballast warms up and your high beams are usable, you likely won't need them anymore. The only way to have usable HID's in the high beams is if you wire the ballast to be 'always on' like I did on my Maxima. Problem is, due to the ICBM, that's complicated on this car. Not to mention, because they will be on and off constantly, you will kill your ballasts/bulbs in short order.

Just my $0.02. You can take it for what it's worth.

No offense taken...everyone has their opinion...which is why we go in on the forums. 8000k is not bad tho...I actually like them. Its very clear bright white with a slight blue tint to them....the parking light is really small and only accents/compliments the headlights and fog lights...the high beams are just a thought...too much work to put in if you ask me...I do have a thing for for different tho...

Have you tried 6000k? If you want white with a hint of blue, that is your best bet. On most HID kids, 8000k is pretty damn blue.

I love blue myself (my favorite color - I even re-did my ENTIRE Maxima interior to blue LED's - speedometer, dash, climate control, everything)...but you're losing a lot of light...especially in inclement weather, by going to 8k.

Here are my lights (6000k 55w top/3000k 35w bottom):

Thats good feedback...Pretty nice configuration as well. Its funny that people say how bright my 8000ks are as they really are...I could only imagine what the 6000k looks like...I might give it a try this weekend. I think the stock HIDs are 5000k correct?

Stock is 4300k.

If you did a light meter with 6000k and 8000k...the difference is significant. It looks bright to the naked eye, but your lights are quite horrible in rain, etc.

Using 55w ballasts with 8000K bulbs will make them look more like 6000K.

I say pick what you like. I know someone with 10k for low beams and it looks blue and IMO nice. I'd like to try 3k for low beams to look similar to the SCCA GT-2 race cars but I think that'll get me pulled over lol. I also want some 12 or 14 fogs, just haven't had the time to decide on which one to go with. Ricer to me is a car with all kind of stickers, oversized spoiler, non functioning vented hood from the parts store, spinner hubcaps, etc. If picking a certain color of hids is ricer then wouldn't anything non oem be ricer?

For visibility I wouldn't go above 6K. If you only want ur fogs for looks then get whatever u want, but I personally think anything above 6K looks dumb lol. Again just my opinion

I took a trip out there (Brooklyn) and spoke to Igor and Alex. I was going to do it but got caught up in other things, then started to upgrade the acoustics and stereo of this car. Work seems pretty good and will go back in Spring to get it done. They give multiple quotes based on the style and paint job you want. Someone here already did work with them and it looks pretty good.

Most of those were done by the owner or didn't say who did it. The red and black set were done here in the US by a forum member.

I know a group here in NYC that specialize in just headlight mods for infiniti cars. They are probably the best at doing this. Check out their facebook page for more info:
