I know most in the trucks forum are inclined to build low riders, but for us 4x4 guys, enjoy!

Why?

You'd be shocked if you've seen where that truck has been just like it is.

Here's a couple shots from our week long AZ run VIII event last week.

SUA works just fine (and has for 4+ years)

Pulling out of camp on Day 4 of the run, fully loaded!

Wife in the Xterra:

Good shot of both my trucks:

Fvcking sex, man. I LOVE that exo. Is that 2" OD or 2 1/2"? Looks like you...powerdercoated it? Or is that inhibitor and black primer/matte paint?

thanks for the compliments. Actually most of it is 1.75" .120 wall DOM tubing. As for paint....flat black rattle can Rustoleum.

I didn't do the welding. I suck at it. I did participate in the design though.

A 220v wire feed welder was used. All tubing is mandrel bent with a hydraulic bender.

I love the pics of both your trucks! You probly just use bungee cords around the grating on the roof rack, but have you thought about having some little eyelets welded around the perimeter of the rack as tie down points?

You probably have, and probably don't need it, just throwing out an idea.

I have a huge ammo can full of bungees...I can grab anyplace on the expanded steel. If I wanted to use a ratchet strap, I can just go around the cage tubing.

Do you DD that truck? If so, that makes it that much more awesome.

Cage looks nice, take some time to break it in -- add a little character.

Now all you need is a hood-mounted high lift jack, b/c IMO it just looks sweet.

Nah, I've got this, the Xterra, my wife's Hyundai XG350, my Z28, and do most of my daily commuting on my bike.

This thing quit doing daily driver duty years ago. I've owned it since new in 9/98.

The Hilift is mounted in the bed over a fender well. The spare, 2 jerrican mounts, and a huge ammo can parts box are also all hardmounted in the bed.

The rear of the truck now sits about 3-4" higher to eliminate the sagging tail since I put on new Alcan springs. Of course that required rotating the pinion, getting a rear CV driveshaft, longer shocks, and adding a slip yoke eliminator. Seems no project is ever simple.

Cool -- I just think it looks cool with the jack on the hood.

I've heard slip yoke elim. are always worth it.
