My stock exhaust is shot. The pipes are all rusted through, and it sounds like a buzzing bee. That, and I have horrible gas millage. I have searched NICO to find that you all recommend magnaflow mufflers with straight pipes. Can someone please link to me the exact muffler I need off their website (i want single out). thanks

Technically nothing made by Magnaflow will bolt right up to your current factory exhaust. The smallest inlet size you can get as a dual-in/single-out is 2" inlet/2.5" outlet. The factory pipe is 1.65". So regardless of what muffler you get, you will need to have the factory pipe expanded or replaced to the larger size (depending on the inlet size of the muffler you choose).

Here's the link for the dual 2" inlet/single 2.5" outlet muffler by Magnaflow (Keep in mind that all Magnaflow mufflers are reversible)... http://www.magnaflow.com/02pro...=7996

Also, a search would have yielded the following thread (which contains all information on the R50 exhaust you would need to know)... zerothread?id=448373

Buy the muffler, and take it up to Gallon Measure in Buchanan, they will probably install for $200

Attention R50 owners. Help me convince my parents to get a magnaflow system instead of replacing with the OEM. My parents think the OEM will be better.

I respectfully disagree. The OEM exhaust is designed for one thing, noise reduction. The mufflers are extremely restrictive and choke the engine. There is an enormous buildup of back pressure due to the main muffler and EGV's are very low with a factory system. On top of that, the factory system is comprised of steel (I don't even think they used alumunized steel) which will rust immediately and will cause failure within a few years. Yes, with an aftermarket exhaust you will get more exhaust noise, but the lifetime warranty alone is worth it.

Yes, that muffler will work. The only caveat, however, is that you must either replace all pre-muffler piping (the factory pipe between the resonators and the main muffler) to match the new 2.25" muffler inlet or you will need to have the factory pipe expanded at the end to fit the new muffler.

This muffler isn't just plug'n'play, you can't just weld it in since the pipe diameters are completely different.
