I got a m45 2006 and tomorrow am going to gut out my catalytics and put a 2.50 piping and keep my old muffler. I'll tell you guys how it comes out.

Here's a fairly naive question - Are you doing this for performance, exhaust note or other reason? I am mildly disappointed with the sound of the exhaust... One more question - if you don't mind, how many $'s for this mod? Good luck!

Did you complete the exhaust mods to your M45? How does it perform/sound? I own 03 M45 and it is so quiet you can't hear it run. Trying to get some mild exhaust sound without affecting warranty.

Altering the exhaust will not void any part of your warranty

By putting on bigger pipes and/or removing a muffler or two??? How does pipe diameter and/or a missing muffler have anything to do with how efficient your engine is operating?
