I had some free time and a little change in my pocket today, so I headed over to the exhaust shop downtown. They (B&B Muffler) did excellent work on my BMW and a cousin's Altima for cheap, and its one of few places where I can light up a cigar in the waiting room and no one will care.

Anyway, here's pics:

This is just a picture I took yesterday when I was lost in the county:

And here's a video:http://www.q45.org/exhaust/

2" straight pipes. Raspy but fun.

Total: $100 out the door.

So the only thing you tossed was the "suitcase" muffler in the rear? Seems a little raspier than others I've heard that got rid of the rear muffler.

That's exactly what I did to mine, but I ran 18" Magnaflow 3" tips. Nice mod Jesda.

Kind of sounds like a bad case of flatulence with a failing sphincter muscle.

Thats exactly what I did to mine this past December when I was home in Vista for Christmas. I'm loving it so far.

Interesting as I've seen some guy here in LA has a similar setup but he does not look like a Q enthusiast. I see him on the way home sometimes going south on the 110 fwy - has a pre 94 active/pearl white w/dual straights similar to yours but less obvious as straights to the casual observer as the pipes are near stock size and close together as they are w/a muffler.

Raspy but sweet!

What does it sound like at 75mph? Also, to repeat the previous question... will it affect emissions?

I'm very tempted!

It won't affect emissions since the rest of the exhaust is in tact (cats). I could get ticketed for loud exhaust, however, at the police officer's discretion.

At 60mph its a very faint, low hum that you can barely hear. As you speed up to 70-80mph (when cruising) the hum disappears completely. My '90 has more wind noise than anything else. Factor in the gigantic subwoofer in the trunk -- the only thing I hear is Neil Diamond.

Nice! Id like to see a video of it terrorizing the streets (in-car)

How is it compared to my exhaust?

I'd say yours is much deeper and throatier, like Kevin's.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but does anyone have sound/video clips of their exhaust systems without the crossover and muffler? I'm thinking of getting rid of the noise-reducing technology so I can remember my battleship has 8 cylinders.
