Well anything would be an improvement over stock exhaust in my opinion but I would say depending on which system you get I would say maybe 3-5 mpg per gallon but no promising tho. But on the other hand with my 240 Im was getting getting 28 mpg with CAI headers test pipe 5 in cannon exhaust on mine even when the gas tank was leaking and the engine being not up to par so. And if you want to play you have to pay. Just save for an BRM exhaust system bc that's what I'm doing myself or just grab a Isis for a mid range if you just can't wait to save.

Adding a 3" will not get you any better mpg...

Nothing wrong with a $150 exhaust tho, just get the hangers re welded. They are almost guaranteed to be crooked and weak.

So, $150+ $40 for re-weld gets you a decent exhaust!

Clean MAF, IACV, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, full tune up, proper tires and pressure and alignment could all help with mpg. 3" will not help, but as long as you keep your stock cat (assuming it isn't clogged or broken) you won't be hindered by a 3" catback.

My plans was to replace everything tthing for the exhaust means header and the cat too. With me doing all that will I see any improvement in gas milage ? I you think so because the engine does not have to work as hard to push the exhaust gas out.

I never heard of aftermarket exhausts improving your gas mileage...
If your main goal of an exhaust is improving your gas mileage I would look else where.

Regardless, I did have a friend who bought a cheap ebay exhaust, it bolted up great and the hangers were just fine. The only down side was if the exhaust hit the ground/speedbump, it would break the welds on the bottom of the muffler.

What are your engine plans, OP? Get something that will be compatible with your future plans. If you're sticking with KA/KA-t/SR, I'd say go with a BRM exhaust sold here on NICO.

OP, that amazon link you posted
$139.99 but $204.49 shipping
wow, total RIPOFF!!!

here's something similar if you want to keep that dual-exhaust look:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DUAL-Tip-Cat-ba ... 4970wt_768

or the single tip fartcan exhausts on that site are even cheaper

But, as in your other thread, you won't see any major mpg gains

If your sole purpose with this car is to improve its fuel economy, you joined the wrong forum. Eco-mentalists united is just down the hall, to the left...

what's wrong with really liking nissans an infinitis, owning and driving them, and wanting optimal fuel economy out of a specific model? it's "nissan infiniti car owners club", not "make your nissan or infiniti as fast and powerful as it can be club".

I'm just saying, 99% of everyone in this forum (and 100% of 240sx guys, until now it seems) ARE in the "make your nissan or infiniti as fast and powerful as it can be club" LOL. At least that the impression I've gotten from reading this board for the last 8 YEARS. Have I been missing it all along?
