Because of the CVT transmission not "shifting" like a normal automatic, will the exhaust tone sound strange or very different under accelleration? I heard a Magnaflow muffler and a fiberglass resonator are needed, however, would it be too loud without the resonator? Or would it be too loud if an 18" turbo swirl glasspack were installed without a muffler. The OEM muffler is quite large and really deadens the sound, so opening it up with which one of the above scenario's would just make it sound with a low rumble rather than a loud roar.

Its not really going to sound different being a CVT. Although it won't have the shifting so would just louder as the rpms went up.

Depending on piping size, without a resonator it probably would be extremely loud. You've heard Civics before.

Gee, Matt, that sounds more like the Honda that passes me every morning than my CVT! Good recording, though...

IMHO, One of the GREATEST advantages of the CVT in a Versa is the overall lower noise levels due to generally lower engine rpms. However, if you stand on it, the revs will remain at a level up around 5,000 rpms rather than the cycling up/down which would occur with either a 6 speed manual or the 4 speed automatic.

Why anyone would spoil this unique feature of the Versa by adding a Fart Pipe is beyond me but each to his own. Personally, I think a CVT Versa with a more open exhaust would sound pretty stupid but would probably turn some heads if that's important to you.
