Exhaust tips

Currently I have the Top Speed exhaust. I love the sound over the stock exhaust, but the looks, not so much. The tips are a too big and crude for my taste. So what I was thinking is get pipe reducers, like 4" to 3", and then weld on some rounded tips. My question is, how will this affect everything? Sound? Performance?

Not sure since I've never seen it done, but I think it's no bueno for performance and sound. Personally, I think the 4" tips fit perfectly into the rear bumper,

Just replacing the tips wont effect anything. They are just a finisher.
