Exhaust Tips

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I can't help but think shinier exhaust tips would be nice. They seem dull.

Can they be changed out? or is it part of the whole thing.

I use a high quality alum. polish each time I wash the car and they look great.

Gloa -- LOL -- it's just you! Gunmetal? What color is your car?

I swapped out the polished stainless on my M45 for chrome tips, but then my factory 18" rims are also chrome, so the effect is good.

I haven't done the same to the EX because tips that size would be maybe $100 and my wife really doesn't give a poop about it... so there you go.

But HondaGal, to answer your question and bring this thread back on track, these factory tips can be easily swapped out by any competent muffler shop. I'd find the appropriate size and shape of the chrome ones first (get the specs for ID (where the tips attach to the exhaust pipe) and OD (the nice polished tip part we see) and tip length, then find what you want and order away.

I haven't measured but I'd guess these are 2 1/2 inch inlet and 3 1/2 inch outlet, with maybe a 6" length? The OD may be 4" - I'm going from memory and just eyeballing them a few weeks back.
