you want a basic idea what's gonna happen if you go to court? Pretty simple. If you plead not guilty, the judge will ask you if you've returned the exhaust to stock, and will expect proof that you did it (as in a receipt). If you don't have proof or admit you didn't fix it, you will be likely be found guilty immediately, you'll pay the full fine PLUS court costs, plus lawyers fees if you hired one. If you plead guilty, you're simply adding court costs to your fine in addition to wasting your time. The only possible break you could get for such a minor ticket in court is if the officer doesn't show up to the court date. In that case, you win automatically. But I wouldn't bank on that happening.
As far as claiming you bought a silencer since then to mask some of the sound, it won't matter to a judge. You were still guilty of the infraction. And if you have a receipt to show the silencer installed before the ticket was issued, it still won't matter as the cop determined your exhaust was still too loud even with it on.
Your best option is to simply pay the ticket without taking it to court. It's not that big a fine. If you decide not change the exhaust back to stock as the cop ticketed you, then you risk getting more tickets for the same infraction. There's no limit as to the number of tickets you can get. If you think a silencer will help you avoid a future ticket, that's 100% your risk. Be warned, you could easily get another ticket for the same infraction if the silencer doesn't work well enough.
As far as tinted windows, the officer gave you a big break. there are specific laws as to how dark a tint you can have, and which windows can be done, and they vary by state. If you ignore the cops warning, you risk tint tickets, and not just one. The ball is your court, but I would suggest you have the tinting redone by a professional that knows the laws.
Hope that helps.
