Hey everyone, i asked this question under another post but in the event no1 checks there i would like to know which type of exhaust sounds really mean (a very deep V8 rumble) on the VG33, i know our engines sound totally different and definitely not V8 like but there has to be exhaust out there that will cancel out more higher frequencies, i was thinking magnaflow but my last true dual magnaflow with round mufflers wasn't a deep rumble.. more like a very aggressive pop (almost like a Harley). any suggestions, sound or video clips will be appreciated.

thanks, will try my best to make time for a video once i get it installed.

Well in order to give you any advise I would need to know more about the system your putting in. Are you just adding a muffler to an all stock system or is the cat cut out, overall length of the system shortend, things like that. Just adding a muffler to a straight pipe system that ends under the bed is going to sound really poppy and terrible in my opinion but some people like it. There are a lot of factors that go into getting a good exhaust note and it can get really spendy if your having someone else do the work.

I already ordered.. went with magnaflow after talking to a local shop they said the reason the true dual wasnt the greatest was due to muffler diameter and length, the dual in single out would sound much better and more dampening since its a larger oval muffler. so far its stock cats and header pipes, the center is going to be a 2" in 2.5 out into a large magnaflow tip. This raises another question if anyone know anything about, is there a highflow cat for the vg33e? (only seen regular replacements online) the cats look awkward. don't think it would be a cost friendly upgrade to have just regular magnaflows put in.

appreciate the input

there are plenty of different options you can do.

personally, ripping everything out just for a particular sound IMHO is crazy.

You can do a cat-delete and use CEL eliminators as to not throw a code.. That will free up some backpressure and torque but will get the sound your looking for.

Votionspeed.com has fake cats for any visual inspection.

But before anyone else reads this thread, let me educate the readers of exhaust theory:

then everyone can make a decision on what system would benefit them

old thread but here is the final product of exhaust and custom 3" intake (sorry i didn't do this earlier, had lots of school related stuff to worry about and decided to wait till i pick up a new cam) this is interior, will try to upload exterior when my suction mount arrives.

exterior as promised (sorry for the delays on this post)
may create an intake sound clip soon (my intake is louder than the exhaust at hard acceleration =P)
