Which is betterhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

I really like the looks of the third one. If I just got lets say one muffler, will a muffler shop be able to weld the OEM pipes into the one inlet?

Do you know if these exhausts make a "farting" noise? One of my neighbours has a kid with one attached to an Acura Integra. It looks like the middle one.

The 300zx wont fit, atleast without ruining all that shiny chrome.

All three will look terrible on the J30 IMO. I would use a universal oval muffler with oval dual tips.

a few years ago, ...I was down at IU visiting one of my friends and seen a J with a setup similar to the last 300ZX e-bay link you posted. ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW )They will fit, but...the cans will scrape occasionally with angled driveways , etc, because they will hang low and you would have some work to put them on making mounts.

They didnt fit quite as nicely as they do on the 300, but hey it's all in what you like, so it's your choice. I'm not sure if they were an off brand, like the link you posted. I didnt get a close look, they were driving off when I noticed. But it did have a throaty gurgally sound vs the farting coffee can.

Should sound *close* to that but not totally. The J30 has a different exhaust system setup.

Then you need to re-read my recomendation. I said that if I was to do it again I would only remove the rear suitcase "resonator" and have a shop run the two pipes out to the rear and supply them with chrome tips of your choice. Cheap, easy, and will sound and look every bit as good as anything else you are considering.

ok. Does teh suitcase do anything, or is it just for noise? When i get the "dual", how will i cut a hole for the right pipe to go out of the bumper?

With a sharp implement

Diamond made a template using the side the exhaust comes out now then used it on the other side to make it match. But keep in mind he was a dang good fabricator.

-- Hey y'all long time no nico. Been busy getting married and honeymooning, put abot 3k on my J last week. Nala, this thread shouldn't be titled 'exhaust', it should say 'rice can', save up some money and get something nice. I've had my setup about four years now and I love it. After the headers, mines got a cpl. resonators where the old high flow cats used to be (emissions went away in mo last year for 96 & older). After that they connect and split again(hence the x-pipe name), then both are put through the magnaflow muffler. My tips are round and have an angled opening, they look stock at a glance. I like the resonartors because it's a little quieter at idle speed, but at WOT she literally screams. I dusted a modded civic the other day, he had no idea. I even hung with a G35 coupe on the 10 leaving New Orleans the other night (don't street race, do as I say not as I do). Anyways I've got a ton of J pics in pretty places along the Gulf coast, and now that all this wedding hubub is over, maybe I'll have time submit for the calendar & take an exhaust vid for y'all. Good to be Back.

-- Dude, this thread is about fart cans, and my computer is prolly about your age, soooo, although I just keep adding memory and ram, I think it's gonna be upgrade time here real soon, anyone here have any advice for me in that area speak up, I could use some. All the pics I have are on my new camera and the files are way bigger than my old one. I got the new 10.1 Sony touchscreen as a wedding gift, it's rad. My compaq deskpro is not rad, so keep yer pants on.

-- Hey thanks for the well wishes Yoda, BTW, I was born the year you were married. Don't let me call you old though, the correct term is "distinguished". I'm just giving you trouble. Here's to another happy, healthy 26 years. And to our first.

-- Pics in a new thread sometime soon. Sorry bout the threadjack.
