I am doing my sr swap real soon and while prepping/ taking out the KA i realized that the stock exhaust needs to go. So heres my deal, i wanna do 3 inch straigh exhaust(ie no cat) I can get an inspection sticker....:icesangel So thats not an issue, but how loud will this be? I have heard cars with turbos aren't as loud? Any input would be awesome..Thanks soo much

my car right now is running a gutted cat , but I will soon be running a 3" test pipe. It is very loud , and when you get your sr20det in it will be quieter, since the turbo acts like a muffler. I think it is in Europe , that you can run striaght pipes with no cat or muffler leagaly if it is turbocharged.

I have a 3" downpipe, cat and HKS Hiper exhaust and it's quieter than my Accord which has 2.25" piping with a cat and a magnaflow muffler and a CAI. That is saying a lot, my Accord isn't loud.

I am running 3" downpipe, 3" test pipe, and 80mm Blitz Nur Spec haven't heard it yet:( But anyway keep your cat because if you have a test pipe and have to deal with any enforcement you get a fix it ticket and just bolt the cat back on. Then deal with the ticket and then put the test pipe back on. Thats my plan.

Not here, if you get caught with no cat here, you get a huge fine. Like $1000 or something outrageous like that. That's why gutted cats own.

Thanks for all the input. I think i am gonna get a test pipe, run a cat during the week and test pipe for weekends. Then i won't have too much noise for daily driving, but can still let loose...

Hah. I got 20 bucks that says you will do that for a couple weeks, then stop swapping on the weekends. I guarantee swapping piping will get old, REAL quick.
