Okay so I just picked up a 4th Gen SE and it needs a new exhaust system so I'm definitely looking for an after-market upgrade. Any suggestions on what system go with? Also looking for headers too and having trouble finding them so anyone who could point me in the right direction that would be great.

well I know alot of people are going to recommend the two most popular..

Y-Pipe from either Cattman Performance or Warpspeed and the headers I would go with Cattman, they seem to be a real reputable company.

I want to get a Y from them sometime in the future. Once I fix this stupid evap junk. Only question I have is will It enhance the sound of the exhaust with just the Y?

VE 3rd gens are pretty similar and when I just added a y-pipe (Cattman) there was no noticeable noise difference. There is WAY more difference in just adding an intake.

As for exhaust, everything is going to depend on how loud you want it and how much you want to spend.

An exhaust system doesn't really add much for hp, especially on a car like a Maxima. The y-pipe is far more important.

I have a GReddy SP2 and I am very happy with the sound. I had to replace the GReddy resonator with an aftermarket one, though.

If you decide that is too expensive, you can go to a shop and have them custom make one for about 2/3 the price of a GReddy. Just have them put in a resonator and a muffler of your choice.

Thanks for the input I haven't heard of Cattman Exhaust. So far I had been looking at the Greddy and the Stillen systems. I don't know anyone around here who has a Maxima or is really into them so I haven't been able to hear how any of them sound. Im looking more for something with a deep/aggressive sound than something that makes you think a Honda is coming down the road.

Sweet haven't heard of two. So far it's been the Greddy and the Stillen systems i've been looking at. As for headers I haven't been able to find them anywhere. Any place you know of that has some samples of what different systems sound like on these cars? Not too many people have Maximas around where I live so it's hard to get any good input from anyone here.

Cattman is one of your best options. http://www.cattman.com They should have the headers for your car.
