So now I've taken my Car Chip Pro and recorded my 02 sensor voltages for a few trips (it takes a reading every 5 seconds). I also did this in August of 09 shortly after I purchased the car. I had a lot more data in August of 09, and I selected the widest range of each sensor in one trip independently:DeanM45 wrote:The sulfur smell is a very good indication that the O2 sensor(s) are bad (assuming that your air filter is in good shape). Scan to see what the secondary O2s are showing. With everything warmed up they should be in the .28volt range.The00Dustin wrote:<snip>I think my exhaust kinda smells like sulfur (fireworks sulfur, not really strong raw eggs sulfur). I never noticed that with any other car of mine, could I potentially need new cats too? No point in putting in new O2 sensors only to destroy them.
8/26/2009 O2 Sensor Voltage (B1, S1) 0.14-0.95
8/27/2009 O2 Sensor Voltage (B1, S2) 0.00-0.95
8/30/2009 O2 Sensor Voltage (B2, S1) 0.49-0.63 (only one 4 minute trip recorded, not much data)
8/30/2009 O2 Sensor Voltage (B2, S2) 0.06-0.83 (only one 4 minute trip recorded, not much data)
I'm not sure what constitutes a bank, but I assume that bank # sensor # is standard OBDII nomenclature. Regardless, I'm not sure which sensors are secondary, but I am assuming that those readings, at less than 50K mile were reasonable ranges (except I'm curious about the 0v). That having been said, I haven't done a lot of driving, but from just driving today, I got the following from the first trip of the day (~10 minutes, long enough to warm up the engine, but these ranges and the ranges above include cold time as well):
O2 Sensor Voltage (B1, S1) 0.18-0.91
O2 Sensor Voltage (B1, S2) 0.00-0.92
O2 Sensor Voltage (B2, S1) 0.36-1.28
O2 Sensor Voltage (B2, S2) 0.00-0.92
Anyone have any clue what's normal and what's not? I've got some data, but I don't really know how to use it (for all I know, these ranges are useless and I need to provide the data in a different way).
