exhaust smell?

hi if i drive my s13 for a while, the acceleration wont be as strong as when i first started my car, like its struggling, and i will have this weird smell coming from the exhaust somewhere? does anyone know what is causing it? and how to get rid of it??

have u replaced any gaskets or anything.

yes, i just recently rebuilt my engine but the smell was there before i rebuilt it as well.

sounds like your catalytic converter is clogged.

would i have to replace the whole cat converter? or could i jux clean it out?

get a cheap hi-flow replacement unless your state does emissions testing. in which case, you'd need a new one. = $$

high flow cats wont allow you to pass emissions? thanks for the help.
