I don't have my coupe yet, but I already bought the Borla exhaust.

Sounds a heck of a lot better than the Nismo and Greddy in my opinion. Looks better too.

My bud has a Borla system on his Viper and can't say enough good things.

edit / top notch customer service and warranty as well.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but there have been so many threads on this issue. Please search next time. Also, if you look on youtube each of these exhausts has a video to match.

IMO The GReddy has the best sound. You may already know, but there is an Artisan Performance cat-back.

Ive havent heard the greddy in person, but they have always been on the more high pitched civic side of things. We had a meet a few months back and between the STILLEN, Borla, Nismo, and Tanabe, the Borla took the win for sound/throatiness by far, it also compliments the rear end nicely with its bigger tips. As far as aesthetics goes however, STILLEN takes the win easy

True, well heres my breakdown of the exhausts.

Stillen - Looks good, but the tone is too deep and seems too quiet.

Tanabe - Also looks good, but its only a axle back, and the sound is just alright. It may sound better as a cat-back.

Nismo - Has a nice tone and growl to it, doesn't look bad either.

Borla - I like the sound, it has a V8-like growl, but thats not what I would want for my A/C. Maybe more of a Z/G like purr.

GReddy - It has a unique look with the blue tips and such. The tone has a nice purr, closest to the Z/G IMO. Also its not too quiet, and if you think it is you can take the silencers out, which makes it sound even hawter.

Hope that helps.

This looks like a great write-up/review. Perhaps this should be made into a sticky? This might help prevent the same questions from being asked?

Just a thought.

I was afraid to say that the GReddy looks ricey on here because it seems like more than a few like it.

So... thanks for saying it for me.

Thank you Kyle. I love the way the Stillen exhaust looks, but IMHO its a little too quiet for me. Now, I still haven't heard it w/o the resonator (I'm not sure if there is one), but it may appeal more to some , who knows. I still have love for Stillen (pun intended) for what you guys have done for the A/C community.

I have been debating the same issue........... which exhaust system to buy for my A/C 3.5 After reading up on all the above systems I have decided to go with the Stillen cat back. I like the sound that the stillen puts out............. not as loud as the Greddy but thats OK .......... I am very concerned about cabin noise and the drone syndrome that will drive you crazy. I also like the looks of the stillen exhaust not to big like those greddy rocket boosters, but I do like the blue tips on the greddy system. So to each is his own and I will go with the Stillen cat back exhaust system................... plus the install is as simple as 123

I have the Stillen cat-back exhaust and love it!! As far as looks, it doesnt stand out like the Greddy TiC. It also has a deep tone to it

I doubt you will feel any increase in power with a larger midpipe until the cats are removed with headers. I can't see any other noticeable gain out of a catback until then, not saying you wouldn't get 1-2 whp. Ever look at the OEM manifold design from the flange near the cat back to the block…… Of course there's a lot of demand for the catback so they're becoming readily available.

IMO if you never plan to remove the cats ect, don't waste your money on a catback unless you like it on a mods list. With that said, I do have the Borla and I do have plans to rework the midpipe after someone releases a set of headers. Maybe the Nismo would have been a better route for the plans I have but like Adidas said, no exhaust really comes close to the tone.

I have the Stillen myself and after about 4K on it, it sounds nice deep growl. I'm not sure why people are saying it's too quiet cause I think the sounds is just right...not too quiet but not to ricey.

Don't forget too that someone on here did a straight pipe configuration but not sure on the back pressure loss.

I'm sure there's plenty of back pressure left in the manifold. Straight pipes can get pretty raspy with no resonators on an N/A car. Now it doesn't matter what anyone says about this or that exhaust, I think anyone will be satisfied with whatever they get with a VQ engine resonating through. Now again, if you have the opportunity to listen to all the exhaust notes at a meet you can get an accurate sound difference between them all and yes, Stillen is the quietest. Not at all saying it's quiet, just one of the softer exhausts.

I agree, I love the Stillen exhaust I've had mine for about 200+ miles and can tell the difference in the tone, it got deeper and not raspy at ALL. It doesnt look all bulky like the Greddy TiC which attracts less attention from the cops. The midpipe is very restricted so hopefully someone makes the aftermarket midpipe and header to open up the exhaust flow some more. I hope that Nismo makes a header for it, I had their header on my 02 SpecV and loved it.

I personally like the NISMO the best, than Borla....The others are lame IMO....Greddy tips are too huge and ricey looking, maybe if i your car was twin-turbo it could potencially pull it off. The Stillen is alright, but i dislike the unnatural look of the two mufflers...It looks like it should be on an american made car (Montecarlo)......Nismo and Borla look and sound the best IMO

look at the greddy..it has a odd angle to it...not sure on the sound...i have a stillen cat bac on my 3.5..sound is amazing..not rice banger or whinny..but deep and powerful...think more of a growl than a rummble..it turns heads when u stomp on it and shuts up on idle....looks...mint esp after its clean...it gleams....the squared off tips are nice too. i have heard the nismo and the borla...sounds nice but my stillen is deeper...just my opion...

I agree, I find the look quite boring...effective but boring. the pretiest one is te borla one, then the greddy one. but that angle killed anychance of me getting it. I would just lose it while I'm driving around here lol

So far I like the GReddy the best, but I still wish we had more options. I wonder if theres a video of the Artisan cat-back anywhere?

I think its funny why there is not one peron who says they dislike their exhaust and favor another, why? Maybe becuase they have not seen or herd others than the ones they own. Ofcourse there are those who have. Also, i dont think there is such a thing as one better than the other performance wise, looks are entirely up to ones desires!with that said, Greddy is the best!...lol.

Thanks for everyone's input, it really helped me out to make my choice because I was confused there for a while. Went with the NISMO.
