Hey guys,

I Have a 1990 240sx with a 93 SR20DET Redtop setup. I have a greddy 3inch downpipe, 3 inch highflow cat, 3 inch custom piping, and a 3" borla muffler. Everything is custom and all welded together. AKA "Major pain in the ***".

I have an exhaust leak, and bought the gasket for the turbo to the downpipe. Now I have a bad CAT and the rattling filament is starting to really piss me off!!! I think the setup is a little to loud anyway for a daily driver, so I wanted to know what you guys thought. I could just bring the car to a shop and have a new cat welded on, or I was thinking of getting a whole new setup. I was thinking new downpipe, new cat, and either a Greddy PE2 setup, or the 5zigen Border 3. I was talking to JSpec.com and they said those were the 2 quietest 3" setups they offered. Just wanted some input, and if anyone had those exhaust give me the "good and bads" about them.

Thanks for the input guys, really appreciated....

Well, I don't mean to be an ***, but you kinda answered your own question. You already said that your current setup was too loud for daily driving, so you solve that by getting a different exhaust setup. You should be able to get a full exhaust system from downpipe to muffler for less than $1000, even less if you look around for prices.

If you don't mind keeping the sound, then just go have a new cat put on. That'll fix you up for pretty cheap.
