hello everyone, i just got my 07 350z and i want your opinion on something. i have a nismo exhaust and nismo short air intakes, but i also want to change my cats and y pipe. Now i don't know if i should go HFC, or just test pipes????
Here is a list of what i came up with and tell me what you guys think?
-NISMO short air intakes
-Berk HFC
-Stillen y pipe
-NISMO exhaust

or

-NISMO short air intakes
-Berk test pipes, or any other ones
-Stillen y pipe
-NISMO exhaust

where do you live? have e check? that will be the biggest determining factor.

some people complain about test pipes and the smell but i have no cats on my turbo car and the exhaust dumps right outside my driver window and have no noticeable smell in the cabin which leads me to believe they are girls not used to real cars lol

if you live where you can do test pipes i would do it. i put test pipes on my 350, with the Nismo exhaust, and its awesome. i had a weird smell for about a day, now it just smells like my Ninja's exhaust (header, no cat). you can either go resonated or un-resonated (i went without). if you have to pass emissions testing get HFCs. otherwise, swap your cats/test pipes every time you have to get tested.

Thxs guys, i live in MD and it is required to do emissions every two years. Now my question is, after i put on the the test pipes, is it recommended to have the car dyno tuned or not??? And last question, what kind of test pipes do i get, or just get some cheap ones from ebay? :gotme

you get more benefit from a tune but its not required. $300 etune reflash would even be fine.

Yes, a tune would be the best benefit after performing intake and full exhaust updates. FWIW wit test pipes your car will not pass MD emissions. You will probably throw SES codes due to no cat.

Kool thnx to everyone who helped me with their comments and suggestions. I have decided and my set will be:

NISMO intakes
Berk HFC's
Stillen y pipe
NISMO catback exhaust

The reason to why i decided to go with the HFC's, it's because i don't want to be changing back every two years.
