I am gonna try and do some exhaust work on my 2000 frontier, 6cyl, 3.3 manual 4x4. I was thinking to just replace some seals and the cat. converter, possibly the muffler. I think I might have to change an oxygen sencer or 2. My question is, how many oxysensors does my truck have, it also looks like I have 2 cat. coverters? How much of a pain are non-direct fit cats. I am willing to pay the cheaper price for non-direct fit cats. I dont want to sacrifice quality. Also, if there are any other tips that might be helpful. My truck wont pass PA Immitions for trowing some codes. I'll try and get some codes today. I am just guessing that its an oxy. sensor or the cat. There are other things I have to plan on doing to the truck, but I wanna get it inspected 1st. Does anyone know some good parts sites for the frontiers. Thanks in advance~

There are 2 oxy sensors and just 1 cat, I checked yesterday. The codes are p0325 knock sensor and p1400 egr. Are these codes related? Will disconnecting the battery clear the codes for start-up?

Post up the emissions test results. We may be able to tell you more about the specific problem might be. It can be costly replacing things that don't need to be...

OK. Excuse my ignorance. Do they only check to see if any error codes come up in PA? In C, they give you a print out of the chemical content being spewed out the tailpipe.

If they do this there, post up those results.

If not, then I'd go with resolving the specific codes you are getting. Just pull the codes yourself before going back to retest so you don't have to pay money again.

You can find a copy of the FSM to help you resolve the codes here:
