My cousin did a terrible welding job for me for free a long time ago for my Downpipe to exhaust and it's terrible. When the engine gets warm, and when I lift my hood, I can see exhaust fumes heat waving up out of my engine. The worst part is that those fumes sneak into my interior and make my car stink like ****. I was wondering if any of you guys have been sucessfull with the exhaust repair kits that are availible out there. I already talked with nissanfanatic and he had a bad experience using JB weld as repair. I just want a quick cheap fix because this DP is crappy anyway and I'm planning to get a new one when I have the money. My cousin got fired as a welder from the shop so I can't get free welds anymore lol...

Thanks guys....

ah, i would pay to have it welded at a muff shop, BUT....

ir really depends on what you are working on. Yes, JB cant handle the heat, JB weld actually cant handle the heat of the intake side which is significantly less.

but permatex makes a tailpipe putty that you could try if you are trying to patch up a flange. they also make a tailpipe bandage, if you need to fill in more material.

both products are available at my local fleet store, and i think ive seen most of this stuff at checker and autozone. its fairly easy to find.

so sorry if you already know this stuff im sorry, as i dont have any specific experience with this stuff yet.

there's no flange. It's straight welded pipe to pipe...I know, it's ghetto and I regret it a lot because it will be inconvenient to take off my exhaust. But yeah has anyone have any experience with those repair kits that comes with the patches and hardener?
