My 90 240 has been actin up lately and found some good tuner news...IF I HAD MONEY! Got some rusty rotors(new brake kit), aging diff (LSD TIME!), and a really leaky exhaust. I didnt really plan on upgrading my exhaust for a while, but now the leaks are causing me to get less than 200mpt!!! I have leaks in the exhaust manifold, heat shield, piping, and jacked 02 sensor. Sorry for being long winded, but I'll get to the point. How are OBX and Pacesetter headers compared to HotShot? I planned to get a BRM exhaust, but i found a really good deal on a fire 5zigen exhaust. How is it in terms of sound(way too loud for cali?) and performance? Also i was also wondering how many of u have a heat shield for your header since the master cylinder is pretty close to it?

ps: sorry if im bringin up old news, but is anyone else having trouble with the search function as of late?

Well the OBX and Hotshot header are similer....the Hotshot header is about $100 more cause its ceremic coated...if you dont feel like spending $100 for ceremic coating...teh OBX will do you nicely. Oh and BRM is top notch stuff...make sure you get the big resonator sounds great with the header.

DOOM out.

I think OBX might not fit very well... it fits but a PITA. Hotshot the third edition they have (according to what I heard) fits well...

Id go with a hotshot

Hotshot. Only company i've heard good about. And it means something when they're constantly improving their designs.

I'm probably gonna go wit my first instinct and get the hotshot header and BRM exhaust (expect an email AZHitman). But should I worry about the header heat affecting the master cylinder? I rarely see anyone have one, but all that heat cant be good for the mc.

i think there's plenty of space btwn header an mc. Turbo guys run the hot side w/in mm's w/o much worries. If you still feel uneasy, a custom heatshield shouldn't be too hard.

Anyone know of any good places in either SoCal or the Bay Area to get a custom heatshield job?

couldn't you use that cloth exhaust wrap, not the prettiest thing but sure to do the trick. Couldn't be too hard to make a heatshield if you can get a piece of stainless sheet steel, tin snips, drill and maybe die grinder or sander to remove the rough edges.
