Hey boys I have a question for everyone.

I've been doing research for a while now, looking at retailers and listening to sound clips, and I really cant make up my mind. I'm looking at either a Stillen or Borla exhust system and really need to decide on one haha.

From what i've found, the Stillen system is about $300 more, and gives you about +15hp. Borla, on the other hand, is cheaper, but I can't really find any dyno sheets or hp/tq numbers.

I know people here own the Stillen system and love it, but does anyone have Borla? and for that matter, any other exhaust systems that you really like (please keep in mind i'm on a bit of a budget , so spending $1500 really is not an option haha)

thanks for the help guys

Exhaust for the G35 is expensive. However there are a lot of options. Take a look at some of our sponsors.

Guys, don't expect much from an aftermarket CAT-back exhaust! It all depends on what else you've done to improve breathing for the engine (intake, head work, headers, test pipes, CAT-back). The HP differences in the systems will be +/- 3-5 HP.

Now the sound, thats a different story!!! Each system will have a unique sound.

what exhaust (or muffler) makes the sedan sound like the factory exhaust of a coupe? not too loud or ricey sounding.

id depends on where you get the exhaust from. my roomate just got a dcsports exhaust and its immaculate. retail is $899..ebay was under $200 with shipping. heres the proof:

Wow that's a hell of a deal. Makes me wonder sometimes how they can sell something so cheap. Most likely closin business or something like that.

A coupe mid-pipe will give the sedan better sound. It bolts right up. Sorry, I already sold mine...but I have the rear muffler section...

the coupe midpipe is a direct bolt on for the sedans? what are the differences between the two (sedan vs. coupe)? thanks.

The 03-07 coupe midpipe is a direct bolt on to 03-06 sedans(not sure on the 07)...it has better flow, thus more HP.

i don't mean to bust your balls, but more flow doesn't always mean more horsepower. put a 4" exhaust on your car and you won't gain anything. also, my car is rated at 298hp which is the same as the coupes. maybe it does flow better, but i don't think anyone would gain power from it since its not a bottleneck.

All I know is that the Sedan guys use it...if anything, the sound is better. Do some research to find out if it gives any more power. But I agree with you in that it's not going to be much.

Where can i go about getting this Mid Pipe... I looked on ebay and had no luck but i might want your muffler. I think i can mount that muffler like the coupe's and it will just show from the back to the sedan. It would look really nice. I might be able to move the fuel pump that is on the other side of the sedans rear end and mount a dual muffler system or a dual pipe system. I like the way two pipes look. I just don't know what to do to get that look. Any one know how to do that?

Try looking for a used one. Coupe guys with an aftermarket exhaust will have it. I have the rear muffler section if you're interested.

I love my HKS dual on my coupe. It is very loud with my Stillen test pipes but has a very exotic sound to it.

Well I found a Mid pipe locally lol. I went on ebay and the guy lived like 10 min away from me. I paid 35 bux for the mid pipe and took me (alone) 35 min from start to finish. All Sedan Guys Need This Pipe. It Makes the G sedan sound just like the G coupe. I think if you had them next to each other you would like the sound of the sedan better because that muffler is smaller and more free flowing than the one on the coupe = better tone. This weekend i added a spoiler, a cold air intake, Mid pipe and a shark fin on the roof. I have fallen in love all over again with this car. Thanks for everyones help on posting Fernando

Yea i know. I drove it today and i love the sound. I live in St. Petersburg FL and it is like 95 out today. It sounded so nice that i had to ride with the radio off and the windows down lol. I have the 6mt so at the stop lights i just rev it to about 1500-2500 rpms and the sound is sweet!

i have a 06 sedan with 6mt and the mid pipe was from a 04 coupe but tell him they are all a bolt on swap out that takes about 30- 60 min depending on how long it takes for you to take the bolts off.

I was using a wrench and then i got out the air ratchet and fixed that real fast.

I recommend you putting some type of oil/lube on the rubber joints that hold the pipe in place. This will help in removing the old mid pipe, and when you put in the new one it makes it a breeze to slide in the new one. The sedan has two that hold up the mid pipe but only one of the joints is used to hold the coupes mid pipe in place.

Once you remove the old mid pipe, when you are installing the new on start from the back of the car and place the side that connects to the Y pipe onto the bolts. (the bolts are long and fixed to the Y pipe and will support the weight and keep it in place) Then i inserted the mid pipe into the rubber joint to hold the weight. The muffler is mounted by one rubber joint and will swing side to side so it makes it easy for this to be the last place to connect the pipes. THen i went in and put the nuts back on. (only 5 in total. My sedan has some type of ground on one of the bolts on the muffler and the wire required two nuts. you will see this and know what i am talking about!) Fire Her Up and Hear Her Roar!

OH and make sure you take her off of the ramps/ jacks to drive her

Hope this helps everyone out!
