Hey guys I'm new here so sorry in advance. So, I got an 08 Altima coupe 3.5 auto about 2 years ago and knew absolutely nothing about cars and I still know very little. A while back my buddy told me to get a resonated mid pipe(2.5" I think) and a muffler delete because it's relatively cheap. So I did and it doesn't sound terrible, in fact it sounds good sometimes. Like when I switch to manual mode, but it still kind of sounds like those s*** cars with their exhaust falling off(really loud sometimes). So my question is. Would getting two magnaflow mufflers make it sound better? or just slightly different? I'd have to buy both mufflers and get them professionally installed and id probably get wider tips. But I don't want to waste my money if it's going to make no difference. Thanks for any advice.

I have straight pipes from headers into two magnaflow mufflers, no resonator, and mine doesn't sound like a s*** car. A resonator and delete is cheap cause they weld in one cheap resonator, then use pipe stock for the muffler deletes. I'd add mufflers first, and then delete the resonator if you're still not happy.

your comment about leaving the factory resonator, got me thinking. should I just run 2.25" pipe from the resosonator back? into 2 5x8 ovals?

Check the other thread, do what you think will work best for you, I can't decide that, but I can say 2.5" will work with airflow efficiency better than 2.25", but don't go over 3". Speak with your installer and see what his experience leads him to believe.

Again, replace the midpipe completely. Lose the faux resonator.
